K&C and the Tuskegee Airmen (1 Viewer)

I for one would not buy another P-51. I have K&C,s latest P-51 and one is enough.
Unless you have an unlimited budget, are that you are strickly an airplane collecter I don,t see it viable.
That's what happened to me with the latest focke wulfe. Had pre ordered K&C,s version when T Gunn announced theirs. I absolutely love T Gunn stuff but passed on their plane because I had the K&C version.

I don't have a P51 yet, but am thinking I'll get K&C's latest version,it looks very good up close and would go very well with the US Airforce figures.

Thats fair enough you would not buy another but, many collectors would and, remember K&C's venture into polystone aircraft is at its infancy and, this site although a valuable tool does not have every collector in the world on it so, many may want either TA or, a second P51.

I bet there will be another spitfire on the horizon and not too many people will say not another spitfire. I have spoken to lots of collectors who were mad dye-in-the wool AFV collectors and having seen the aircraft releases have wobbled and bought everyone to date.

I would venture a bet that if done in an SL it would be a winner or, it could be done in a similar vain to the series 250. I just cannot understand why its automatically a cert not to sell for some on here especially, from across the pond?

Well I for one will buy any other Spit K&C make, and now I've got the classic green and brown I don't mind if its Desert, D Day or even that Pink recon version, you just can't lose with these models. Yes they do take up room but there are ways of getting round it. Having collected AFV's for years its really nice to get these iconic aircraft in polystone. If Andy will just make a Typhoon and a Defiant I'll be set.

The subject matter could be best handled as a SL item - start with 15-30 in an edition of, say, 100 or so.

I think that an existing model could be used too. But, long term, I don't think that there are enough collectors who would actually spring the money for it in a normal production run. Which is a shame.

I think multiple versions of released airplanes would work and I don't mean just different numbers on the same plane like with the Hurricane release. Planes with entirely different colour schemes from different squadrons especially if limited as mentioned previously. As far as Tuskegee goes I'd buy one, I really like the silver and splashes of Red on their planes. As for me personally I doubt I'd buy more than one version of any plane due to size and space issues. That being said I'm more of a groundpounder type of collector who prefers figures, vehicles, armour etc.

Tuskekee Airmen P51

Hi Guys,

Re another P51 painted in the above colours… Nice idea… good suggestion… but there’s lots of other P51’s I’d rather do first that have even more colourful and exciting markings.

I’ve nothing against the brave flyers of the Tuskegee squadron but the silver aluminum finish and the red tail just don’t do it for me.

The great thing about P51’s is the wealth of fantastic markings available. Picking a particular favourite is always a matter of preference and taste… Mitch obviously likes the “TA” option… K&C just happens to have other plans… Sorry but there it is…

Best wishes and happy flying!
Andy C.

P.S. If possible I would love to do another P51 in 2011 but we already have other U.S. aircraft in the works.

Andy,

Glad to hear you have some U.S. aircraft in the works. Thanks :)

Here is the DelPrado Airman.

Andy,
I'm hoping for some thunder!;)

Andy...

Thanks for the input its better to know that it seems not to spark your creative and personal taste in WWII stuff than being told by collectors its a non starter without support.
Maybe one day? guess we await a tomahawk or something similar???

Andy, good news and here's hoping we'll get a P-38!
