Sammy,
The book has been fully written (by Hans Hedrich, Lawrence Lo and myself), and the photography done (by Kevin Elliott, Panda1gen on this forum), since January, 2008. It has been in the hands of the two sponsors since then, and they have been diligently trying to find an affordable format to produce the book. I last discussed the matter with one of the two sponsors last week, and was told that the method of publication we had hoped for would be prohibitively expensive, another, less expensive means of publication is being considered, and that it may be several more months before they are ready to go forward with some form of publication. I hope this answers some of your questions.
i am counting the minutes.....
is this the book that Andy at K&C is working on or something different?
Louis, will this book have pictures of all the K&C releases and corresponding set numbers.
Meaning if I were to look up WS45, there would be WS45 and pictures of what this set consisted of.
Gary
What if members were to contribute to a publishing fund. Kind of a pool as it were. Maybe a prepay kind of deal?
I guess that publishing a book is like any other business and implies some risks.
Perish the thought of saying to anybody what to do but the sponsors must decide how many exemplaries they want to publish and how much they must sell each exemplary to get their money back or make a profit.
A poll on how much a collector is ready to pay to purchase a book about K&C may help the sponsors to take a decision (of course a firm engagement would be preferable).
For one, I am ready to pay up to 195,00$ for a book with a picture of all the items produced by K&C since 1984.
Pierre.
WOW PIERRE! Deep pockets eh?
I was hoping for under $150. however if the pic's a great.Which they no doubt will be. I think I could stretch it a bit.
O.C.
That si going to be one big book. Or are the pictures going to be the size that Capitol Ron was posting?![]()
