K&C/Chicago and its not fair! (1 Viewer)

Can't wait to see what Andy and Gordon have for us this year in the windy city, I'm guessing a dio for the new Tiger but what else might they have up their sleeves????:wink2::wink2:

I have never been, but am actually debating on going. However I face a dilema.......If I fly, I'll have nowhere to put my purchases. If I opt to drive I am looking at 2
straight days of driving {eek3} .......16 + hours but could haul back my loot. Option 3 is stay home and regret not going........:redface2:

Wayne mate,
What the hell is that sort of dilema??????????? About two hours flying time..... Just think about we poor Aussies who have to fly for 21 hours to enjoy the greatest show on earth.:smile2: Missing Chicago after the last two years is driving me insane and you are worried about two hours flying!!!!!!
Bit the bloody bullet and jump on a flight.^&grin If I lived in the wonderful country known as the US of A, I would be at Chicago, West Coaster and Texas Shows every year.
GREAT displays and great mates to enjoy an ale with over six days. What more could a TS collector want in life.
Cheers from the Land Downunder, Howard

Well, That was another kick in the backside, pushing me North !!! ^&grin Thanks !!! :salute::

Wayne,
To chime in here; I've gone to the show every year since 1997, you will regret not going, specifically when all the pictures start to pop up on the forum.

I drive from Massachusetts, it's 18 hours for me, I split it up over two days, not bad at all to be honest.

As Marc pointed out, there is a UPS station set up in the hotel for show attendees to use to ship their loot home if you choose to fly, so don't worry about trying to cram your purchases into suitcase for the flight home.

And as others have pointed out, the social aspect of the show can't be beat, you get to put names with faces and meet a great bunch of guys in person and eat, drink and talk toy soldiers for several days, a good time had by all.

Now get on the horn and book your flight and room.....................:wink2:

See there Wayne mate,
Another good reason for not going. Spending time in the Minuteman Room with a TS legend like George and young Chris. Now what more could you want????? A top range of TS and great company.:smile2:
You are really p... (upsetting) my day off with the thoughts that you could attend and I am not.
Brad and and your Texan mate Steven have offered to organized a Limo for you.^&grin
Gee cobber you are killing me.{sm4}
Cheers Howard

Wayne,

Also, the the hotel situation is not dire, according to Shannon. Apparently, the convention is the following week. So what are you waiting for. Tick-tock, tick-tock....

As Andy has repeatedly said it's the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

So get with it dude!

Totally agree Howard, if i want to travel to another city in Oz it would take me a minimum of 3 days of straight driving (around 3,000km's) so 2 days of straight driving to attend the best show on earth would be a no brainer for me..

I am definitely making the trip to Chicago sometime, hopefully next year if things pan out for me.

Jump in the car (or fly) PA, you won't regret it!

GUYS, YOU'VE ALL TOTALLY MISSED THE WHOLE POINT OF THIS THREAD!!!!

By now you were meant to start a whip round to raise money so this humble collector can fly first class to Chicago and stay in a luxury Hotel! You haven't got long now:wink2:

US members, if this looks like it's a runner, then I think you'll find the Brit members very generous in contributions towards a one way ticket.

(Rob, looking out for you mate:wink2:)

To nowhere

To nowhere

Actually, I can't have him shipped out, as it's his round next. And I'm relying on him to find a suitably tacky venue for the midday meet up. I just know he won't disappoint.:wink2:

We can make it a round trip so he pays up :wink2:

Don't worry. He can't row to the US. Rowing west from England he will eventually hit the Gulf Stream Current which will carry him back to Scotland ^&grin

Terry

Maybe he will discover the long rumored Northwest Passage. A couple of hundred years too late but better late than never.

You are all a bunch of bad men who I'm not supposed to mix with!:tongue::tongue:

As for ' Tacky'!!!{eek3} I marvel at your skill of deciding what is tacky when you are stood on the bar singing ' She was only the Butchers daughter ' and ' Twas on the good ship venus' {eek3}

Seen those Russian Tank riders yet?^&cool

That's why most of us have the restraining order in place mate.

The determining factor is usually fairly straight forward. If I've been allowed entrance to the establishment, then in all probability, it hits the definition.

Rob
On the pills again? :wink2:
