K&C Desert Vehicle Suggestions.... (1 Viewer)

Just thought I'd throw this out there as a newbie to the forum. I had a couple of idea's of vehicles to maybe add to the K&C western desert range at some stage.

The NZ Division was a highly mobile formation, but like most Brit forces were constantly short of everything. However they were an innovative lot and hence used to come up all sorts of ideas to help counter the short falls. One of those was to experiment with vehicles. A particular favourite was to place an anti-tank gun on the rear of a truck Although the trucks were highly mobile they offered little protection for the crews. Even so they filled a gap in the arsenal and proved to be an effective tool to help combat the panzers. With K&C production of trucks recently I thought it might prove to be a nice addition to the desert range and some welcome reinforcements??

Also how about a desert bren-gun carrier and an M3 Stuart tank? Again both popular with the kiwi's.

These are just ideas, but with all the Jerry armour available thought it might help stack the odds. Cheers!

Yep,

I'd have to agree with the Bren Gun Carrier and the Anti Tank gun mounted on a truck, it was a 6 Pounder, wasn't it, and they caould also be used by the ather half of the ANZAC contingent

I don't recall that K & C has ever done a Honey (although Figarti made a couple of nice ones) and a Bren Gun Carrier for Desert was made in the 90s so it would be nice to see those although I think it's more likely to see the latter than a Honey.

Welcome aboard desert Kiwi! Now that Andy's said no more early war fallschirmjager, I may as well call myself desert Aussie.

PS - The K&C fallschirmjager were/are superb and there were plenty of kiwis on Crete ... worth a look!

DesertKiwi,a very warm welcome to the forum,good suggestions there,I for one would love a Desert Bren Gun carrier.

Have I slipped into another universe or maybe been sniffing correction fluid again,because I could have sworn Wayne just welcomed an idea that....that...that wasn't German!!!

Thanks again guys for the warm welcome, its great to discover so many collectors in one place. We're a little isolated down here, with very few, if any actual Toy Soldier shops here in NZ. I usually purchase from Syd at Garrison Soldiers in Aussi or off the net.

I've checked out the K&C Fallschrimjager on line too and wow I'm loving those! It would be a real shame if Andy and the team didn't carry this range forward.

welcome Desertkiwi, I know what you mean I to love what K&C are doing with there Fallschrimjager's absolutely great set of figures im hurriedly buying up the discontinued ones at the moment before you cant find them

I just ordered 2 more from them this morning but im still missing the bugle boy para & the weapons container para wish id got them when they still had them on there site!!!

Has anyone ever seen the FJ's TUNISIA, or Herman Goerings Panzer Grenadier's? WOW! They're Cool! DRAGON, just Released Panzer Grenadier's , for DAK with a SDKFZ-251, supporting AFV Vehicles, and must have a 8-Wheel SDKFZ-232 Armored car ? also, and Anti-Tank Gun & Crew!CIAO!

Yeah John, I've spent some time looking up those anti tank guns mounted on trucks......they appear to be either 2 or 6 pounders. Not sure if other nations used them as well?? Seen a couple of pic's of wrecked one's as well. Cheers Toddy
