I just saw pictures of the Mosque. A great looking piece. The oddity of this piece is that it's part of the 'Life of Jesus" series. The religion of Islam was not in existence at the time of the birth of Christ. This historical inaccuracy won't prevent me from purchasing the piece. My purchase of these structures was for a WWII North African set up..... I just thought it was a little strange.

I'll be getting one too to go with AK
Bet u the crusaders boys will be buying too
To me it's like the LAH nothing more than History
and nothing less. Like they say u like it buy it , u don't don't buy it.

Yes I thought the same about the building, but I'm sure its part of the Multi Purpose Planning by K&C in thier range.

You can use this particular building in a 2000 year time frame, regardless of its purpose, so I'm sure it will be a big seller for them, like the rest of the Middle East buildings.

It can be used as a Jewish Temple for the life of Jesus and a Mosque for the Crusade period and on.

Good point. It truly is a cool piece. It could fit modern times.... Iraq, Afganistan....

One thing is for certain, controversy has never affected anything K&C has done or will do. History and current events have been well represented by K&C products. PC is not a concern nor should it be.

For me I will using it with Ancient Egypt, LOJ, Australian Light Horse, Sudan & North West. All these will benefit from this backdrop. Due early October, cannot wait.

Yes...this would work with the Nile/Sudan range also...the good thing about the buildings throughout the Middle East...they work in so many regions and are timeless in style...

Well said mate.

I believe that many collectors will find a use for this wonderful diorama piece. You can use it in so many ways for so many K&C lines.

It will be like those Egypt diorama pieces - once retired it will be a real collectors item.

I would like the room to have many sections of the outer wall in a great big squre with the whole village built inside but, alas not that much spare room. The buildings are fantastic and hope to see some European buildings along similar lines soon

Hi Guys,

Re our friend “Vezzolf” and his comment about our Temple / Mosque being “bad timing for a mosque model”…Perhaps he has forgotten that it’s a “Temple / Mosque”…i.e. One side is a Jewish Temple…the other is an “Islamic Mosque”.

I designed it that way so it could be flexibly displayed in a wide variety of historical periods alongside a large range of different figures…both military and civilian.

Best wishes and happy collecting!

Had not even heard about it until I checked the web after it was brought up here.

IMO the world needs to just laugh at some of this stuff. Cannot see lots of irate K&C fans outside K&C towers burning old sets. Mind, wonder if they would sell them cheap rather than burn!!!!!!

Forget about the piece's designation as a mosque for a moment, and consider its architecture. Was that style of building in use at the time of Christ's birth? If so, then it's not an anachronism as a diorama piece, only as a label in that part of K&C's catalog.

Plus, you guys had no problem with the moustaches on the Hessian officers, so this shouldn't bother you, either :D

Prost!

I found this series LOJ the best release by K&C of 2010 so far...special the latest figures. I think that The Mosque building is more like to be part on the desert war and other dioramas eras then in the LOJ series, but because is from the same region I think that why K&C released on the same dispatches. There was no Islam on the time of Jesus.
