K&C photographs (2 Viewers)

took a couple of quick snaps of my latest additions to my Arnhem/Market Garden collection
This is one of those collections that you just want to sit down and play with. Fantastic! I really love their camo uniforms. K&C really did an excellent job on these figures.

Glad you liked them Toddy and that's a mighty nice collection you have there!

P.S. I'll pass the hat around to get you a feather duster!!!:rolleyes2:{sm4}

Yes dusting is not a skill I have quite mastered yet mate. :redface2: Although a neat glass cabinet with 4x shelves and two display lights, it also has some small gaps around the front door that let the blasted stuff in:tongue:^&grin. I'm hoping to upload a couple more pic's very soon.

No worries mate, looking forward to seeing them. As for the gaps around the front door, there is a product on the market that is good for sealing up gaps in cabinets. They come in various different forms but basically it's either a spongy type of material with an adhesive backing to stick where ever the gaps are. The spongy material fills up the gaps but you can still open and close the doors no prob's. You can also get a brush type material with an adhesive backing that does a similar job and is real good for the gaps in sliding door glass cabinets. Bit hard to explain, so i'll pm the details later. You should be able to get them at your local hardware store.

Toddy:

Great stuff! Keep us posted on the battle against the dust.

I also think it is fitting that a guy like you loves the Arnhem series so much seeing as it represents some of the most heroic fighting that took place during WW II. After all, your return to work from the injury that you suffered is pretty heroic in my book.

Stop it Jason mate, you've made me go all red now.{sm4} Funny you mention Arnhem, I'm currently reading a very good book called 'Arnhem, The Battle For Survival' by John Nichol & Tony Rennell. It's really very good with lots of detail and personal accounts of the battles around Arnhem.

As for the dust, Tom's given me some good ideas which I'll have a look at. There's nothing worse than dusted figures.{sm5}:tongue:

You put your life on the line each and everyday to protect people like me and you act like you serve ice cream for a living. I will let it slide, after all, to you it is just a job, to me it is a sacrifice worthy of admiration. :)

I have a love/hate relationship with Arnhem. Growing up as my bedtime story my dad read a few pages of A Bridge Too Far each night. It probably shaped my love of history. At the same time I never knew any nursery stories until I became an adult and friends who had kids would mention them. Fast forward all of these years and I can't help but collect the series and every time A Bridge Too Far is on cable I have to watch it as if it is a requirement.

I fight the dust war constantly. I purchased a few Chanel make-up brushes to handle the individual figures but the displays and cabinets never seem to get clean.

Thanks mate, yeah I was exposed to a fair bit of military stuff when I was a kid too. Dad also had a love for westerns and I remember seeing a lot of old B&W movies on the TV on Saturday afternoons.

I like the idea of make-up brushes, however I can't see the Mrs's or daughter lending me any, so I think I'll just have to purchase a couple. I also have the odd problem with flies. The dirty sods have an amazing knack of slipping into a cabinet and leaving a nasty deposit{eek3} and fly dirt can be tricky stuff to dislodge at the best of times.

There was no way the wife was going to give any of hers up. Luckily I spend a small fortune on cosmetics for her so our Chanel saleswoman gave me a few for free.

Hi Guys, just another couple of pic's from some of my collection currently on display. The cabinets a bit small really, so I have to swap figures/AV's around a bit, but that's part of the fun.
Cheers Toddy

If you have a free moment and want to look at some great K&C photos this is a great thread!!!, good to see Kevin posting even if it only briefly, and again hope you are feeling better...Sammy

I just saw your post Toddy and it was good to view your collection while I was in your neck of the woods last month.

Tom

Cheers Tom, interesting to compare these photo's with whats now sitting on display in them.

I must look at posting a couple more up to date snaps.^&grin

Reminds me of the time when K&C was putting out tons of motorcycles, I always liked the ones with sidecars.

I am bringing this thread up so the newer members can see the remarkable photographs Kevin took for the K&C thread.{sm4}

What a great day this was when we set up the XXX Corps Column. It was all balanced very precariously and was very nearly sent crashing by a reversing car! :)

Have to say these pictures are fantastic. Great light that day and brilliant photography!

At Clive's old farm, right? Looks like a fun time, wish I had been there!:smile2:
