K&C's Focke Wolfe wrong type? (1 Viewer)

I thank those whom see no harm in what I say.....

I have before mentioned here that I really liked the Aircraft line....much more than anything of the other products made, I guess I'm a 'plane nut' /  / .......and you are tooooo Count Man :p::eek::cool:

I just think it's rather easy to do the research here if you know where to look. This point doesn't attack K&C's effort like asking ' what are the research staff smoking or are they selling lipstick to pigs....

In the past I've asked anyone here why the Me-163 was allowed to sell with some wrong details to which Brad mentioned Andy getting his research from a book titled.... Warplanes of the Luftwaffe, a book that I though wasn't up to the task of 'good simple research '....very well I still bought the Me-163.

In the past it was asked by others here why the Ding Hoa's tail wheel wasn't as it should be and Terry mentioned " breakage ".... his reasoning for the Fw-190 tail wheel error as well....no problem I bought the P-51...as well....and the Hurrican, the first 3 & 4 K&C polystone plane series.

Maybe this would help.....what if some of the parts K&C used on these great plane were made of photo etch parts or plastic that need to be applied to the plane " after purchase " so there are no breakage problems. They could give us the more 'detailed' features and better products for are $.

I like the Fw-190.....BUT I must say ' politely ' it was rather poorly researched by any standard....:(

To me the K&C Fw 190 look like the " butcher bird" & that what matters , who else out there making 1/30 planes now days
I've had 1/32 scales Corgi planes & the paint job on the K&C look miles better
I've had my moans about K&C Market Garden Jeeps but what other company make new items every month
The hobby would be a sad place with out k&C :(

This is a very expensive hobby and as 'customers' we deserve better!!!
K&C is great and I love their models and figures but they should go the
extra mile!!!
As loyal customers we deserve that!!!
Mind you, these mistakes are minor and can be corrected with little
effort or like I wrote before; the extra mile!!

Just a general question for the uninitiated...what front does the red band on the tail identify?

Thanks. Do you know of any source describing Luftwaffe tactics in dealing with escorted bomber formations? I think I recall some Luftwaffe fighters bringing more to the game than just their native cannon & machine guns, such as rockets to place right in the middle of the B-17 formations. I'm wondering what tricks they did to get those dudes in place

The FWs attacking the bombers usually were heavily armoured and had some 30mm cannon so they could hit the bombers from behind at long range but at closer rangers could survive hits from the .50 MG. The extra weight made them vulnerable to the escorting Mustangs so the armoured FW often had their own escort of lighter dogfight configured FWs or Me109s. That worked until the Mustangs stopped staying close to the bombers and started going ahead of the bombers on fighter sweeps to break up the formations of FWs waiting for the bombers.

Bill, IXEC is a big fan of another company,so I think it may not be Hobby master;)

Rob

Yes, you can say that Rob.....I am indeed :D

On June 23, 1942 a Fw-190 piloted by a German pilot landed for the first time on a British Airfield in Pembrey by mistake and was captured by a single British rifleman.

History is about to repeat itself.....:) but this time the Fw-190 will be in 1/30 scale and landing in England flown by...

THOMAS GUNN.....:eek::cool::eek:

CHEERS,
PAUL

Well, I guess your agenda isn't hidden anymore. So much for denying you had one.

Terry

I assume that Thomas Gunn has indicated this to you in writing. If so, what are the details regarding the release and when will the company be saying more about it.

You assume correctly...Brad

Details will be announced...:D

You knew about the TG, Fw-190 BEFORE me Terry.....and let it get this far....

I did not know about it until you hinted at it in one of the first posts in this thread. Then I sent you a PM asking what was going on - you did not respond. Within a few days I found out about the TGM model and felt that you had led the discussion for alterior motives. I'm not questioning your expertise on the errors or your right to comment on the errors or your right to support or not support any manufacturer or model. It's only your ethics I have a problem with.

and that is all I have to say on this topic.

The truth will set you free......

Well, I will be interested to see it and to see how it compares, in all respects, to the K & C version. It seems that with two Fws coming out so close to another, secrets would seem to be in short supply. Let's hope this doesn't start to resemble the movie Duplicity.

Didn't K&C post what planes were coming, in what order and the approximate spacing. So it's not really a secret.
