K&C's Focke Wolfe wrong type? (1 Viewer)

Is it not partly down to the fact that you are buying from what is seen as the best company out. My wife collects bears and buys Steiff now they are relatively expensive but, say a new manufacturer Charlie bears are some what cheaper but, as nice as they are they are not the same quality or, offer the same prestige.

"What is seen as the BEST company" - is it any wonder that KC gets so much stick with comments like this.

Majority of my collection is KC but I do not feel the need to say 'Best' which implies the others are inferior and so gets people's backs up. I also collect AZW Britains and funny how this sort of nonsense does not occur on their threads.

In terms of your next points - same quality? I think TGM are as good as KC and as for prestige we are talking toy soldiers NOT high performance cars or works of art.

Cheers

This has turned into one of the most bizarre threads I can remember seeing in five years on being on this Forum, particularly the two most recent posts by Ixec.

If I have somehow contributed to its bizarreness (if that is a word) or added to the negativity, the members and readers of this Forum have my sincere apologies

Yes indeed. And as Doug said this is going round and round, myself I think the Fw looks superb and if there's any left after I've got the Spitfire then I am in

Gazza,
You've got to be kidding me? You have trouble with the FACT that people say K&C is the best out there? What kind of "politically correct" everbody has to be equal or it's unfair dillusionary world do you live in?
Hell yes K&C is the best, they for all intents and purposes invented the niche we all dwell in, was there even a 60mm scale before K&C? was there polystone vehicles before K&C. How bout matt figs? 20 years plus above the average
quality and a body of work thats second to none in quality, design, originalty and execution!
Seriously, the other new start up companies are planting there roots in fertile ground made so by K&C. there simply is no debate here.

And so it goes..................I think in the interests of my sanity I should close this thread. The horse is well and truly dead and looks like it came back for another beating. Now it appears to drifting towards insulting people which IMO is never acceptable.

The horse isn't dead. It's just resting! :)

Yes it looks like this one has no resolution and will go on and on

My last line was not meant as an insult just a comment on the fact that I wanted to make aware what I wrote not what some thought I wrote. I apologise if I have insulted any forum member

Well....now things have changed....just a bit....I get a smiling face.... while being called.....Crass, Annoying, Inconsiderate......and accused of possessing....Bad Etiquette, Poor Judgement.....and......liking the felling of....bashing my head against a brick wall.....

What can I say......other than, it reminds me......of a Fairy Tale......

Caterpillar: Who are YOU?
Alice: This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. I -- I hardly know, sir, just at present -- at least I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.

The Duchess:
I quite agree with you. And the moral of that is: Be what you would seem to be, or if you'd like it put more simply: Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise.

Alice: But I don't want to go among mad people.
The Cat: Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.
Alice: How do you know I'm mad?
The Cat: You must be. Or you wouldn't have come here.
Alice: And how do you know that you're mad?
The Cat: To begin with, a dog's not mad. You grant that?
Alice: I suppose so,
The Cat: Well, then, you see, a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad.

The Duchess: Be what you would seem to be -- or, if you'd like it put more simply -- Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise.

Alice: I've had nothing yet, so I can't take more.
The Hatter: You mean you can't take less; it's very easy to take more than nothing.

The White Queen: Can you do addition? What's one and one and one and one and one and one and one and one and one and one?
Alice: I don't know. I lost count.

Alice: And how many hours a day did you do lessons?
The Mock Turtle: Ten hours the first day, nine the next, and so on.
Alice: What a curious plan!
The Gryphon: That's the reason they're called lessons, because they lessen from day to day.
