We have just released two brand-new club figures: OTTO SKORZENY & HAMISH "Mad Jock" MacTAVISH

CF024 -- SS-Obersturmbannfuhrer OTTO SKORZENY

Obersturmbannfuhrer (Lt. Col.) Skorzeny served with the Waffen SS during WW2. After action on the Eastern Front he became famous for leading a successful rescue mission to free the deposed Italian dictator Benito Mussolini from captivity on a mountain top in Italy.

Skorzeny also led “Operation Greif” in which English – speaking German soldiers wearing American uniforms spread panic and confusion behind U.S. lines during the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944.

Our K&C Club figure has him wearing Luftwaffe uniform as he appeared on the Mussolini rescue mission on September 12, 1943 He died in 1975.

Only seems like five minutes since Slim and Lawrence. Love the Skorzeny figure the Mad Jock may raise a fewe eye brows if only to put the monical back in!

CF025 -- Lieutenant Colonel HAMISH “Mad Jock” MacTAVISH

“Mad Jock” MacTavish (1876 – 1982) was born into a family of famous Scottish soldiers. His great grandfather raised his own regiment “The Agile & Suffering Highlanders” to fight in the Americas during the Revolutionary War.

“Mad Jock” himself was commissioned into another of the family’s regiments “The Queen’s Own Scottish Murderers” in 1895. He saw extensive service during the Boer War… the Great War…and the North West Frontier.

Our K&C Club figure shows him as he appeared whilst serving with the regiment in the Khyber Pass in 1935. During the Second World War he commanded a battalion of the Home Guard… “The Auchenshuggle Volunteers”.
After War Service he emigrated to the Falkland Islands to run a sheep farm.

He was killed while attacking an Argentinian armoured personell carrier with his walking stick during their ill-fated attempt to capture the Falklands in 1982.

A brave soldier to the end!

Apart from the figure of Skorzeny at the Gran Sasso Raid..i like the idea of fiction figures like this "Mad Jock"..hope they 'll be available soon...and they could be a test for 2 new ranges (Gran Sasso Raid and NW Frontier )
