Hello,

I am missing Arnhem AN009 (supplies) and Normandy Village NV09 (Ruined House with recess) to complete set.
Also, I'm missing Parts of the Roman Castle RO40D (small House Barrack Block), RO40E (Stairs Section), RO40F (Small gate Tower with Double Gates and bars).

My preference is to have MIB, but will consider without based on condition and fair price. I will pay more than fair price or will trade for some of my rare dupes which include WS02, WS02G, WS20, WS037, DD15, DD19, DD21, DD23, EA03, FJ02, SF03,SF05. Thanks for your time and consideration.

Still Looking.

Hi - I just acquired supplies (AN09) just rescently with the jeep - MIB with certificate.
I wish you good luck with finding it as it took me ages to find. Still not told the wife how much I paid. I still cannot believe how much I paid for it either.

Again good luck with finding it as I have only seen it once advertised on ebay and that was 5-6 years ago.

AN09 was the trailer with supplies and two figures. It is often pictured with the attack jeep which is AN10 and both of them were in the second release which was after the certificates. I am away from my main computer but I believe only the first 8 sets in the first series came with certificates.

If you have a Certificate with your jeep it may be AN06 the Reese Jeep.

At any rate all the Arnhem jeeps are difficult to obtain, and the AN09, and especially AN10 are extremely difficult to find!

Good luck with your hunt, the longer it may take......the more you will enjoy finding it!

Hi

I am 99.99% sure it definately came with a certificate. But i will check tonight the box etc....

i got it from a dealer who I have known for 10-11 years and was thining his personal collection, and he in turn bought it from King and Country Uk when they originally came out. But kept these for his persoanal collection. So I knew its pedigree, he had all the original boxes, rubber bands, wrapping and certificates. As that was what I was looking for when I bought them

I also was able to get the single standing para (no idea of the AN number) that came with a certicate but the certificate I got for that was very different than the ones that normally come with the 1st Edition 500 limited edition.

But as I said will definately check tonight when I get home.....

Single standing figure is AN11 which was offered by King & Country UK with a smaller certificate, an a release of I believe 64 or 65 pieces. Again I am working off an IPad without my regular computer.:)

Arnhem 1st series (First 8 Sets) came with Certificates, release was 500 sets each.

2nd release sets AN09-AN16 no longer came with Certificates, at which time 2nd Series of sets AN01-AN08 was issued. These sets also had no Certificates, and some of the sets were slightly different from the first release.:)

Again I am working from memory here.....with no computer back up.:)

John,
One correction, the Bren Gun Carrier 15 was a first release with Cert and then released again. I had both versions at one point.

I don't know about that Tom......we will have to check with Louis. To the best of my memory (without my computer) only the 1st Series, AN01 to AN08 had certificates. AN15 Bren was 2nd Series.......no Certificate. I don't have one with mine.

John

HI
Sorry to labour the point. But had a quick look, and the AN09 and AN10 were definately part of the limited edition 1st edition where they only made 500 with certificate.

See the picture where it shows the version and number.
Inside the box I have certificates that match these numbers, and the boxes come with the nice gold embose saying limited edition.

The one thing like about K&C UK is that they have little stickers on the side of the boxes detailing what they are. Its great for finding the boxes when your looking in the attic or storage were you have hundreds of them!

Well certainly can't argue with that!:) So exactly how many of the Original Arnhem sets were offered with Certificates?

Tom said he had a AN15 Bren with a certificate also.?

Ya, definitely, I sold it to a gentleman in Australia and if I don't still have the photo, I bet he does if I can track it down, but it definitely had it and I had 2 versions. Lawrence can probably confirm too, but I had 2 distinct versions and I think one was marked 15D on the box and the other one said 15B? I can't remember that part, but it was about 3 months ago I finally parted with the one with the Cert. Bren Gun Carriers are just not that exciting to me and the price realized on ebay was well worth the sale!!!

I wanted to get the thread back on track.

Ed

Sorry to of buggered up your thread, will answer the question about which did and did not come with certificates, then I will stop (I promise).

My understanding is:
1. The first edition was made of 500 Lmited edition sets of the following that came with certificates and a box that had a gold seal that said it was limited edition. But not always. I have scanned in the leaftlet showing all but AN09 and AN10 of the first edition.

AN01 The battle for the Bridge
AN02 Fighting Withdraw
AN04 The Gunners
AN05 Captured
AN06 The Recce jeep
AN07 Ambulance Jeep
AN08 The Mortar Team
AN09 Supplies
AN10 Para Attack Jeep

2. They also made a 60 Limited Edition "Single Para with Tommy Gun. I rarely see these come up. These certificates seem to be different. I have scanned mine in.

3. They also made limited editions of wooden Bren Gun carrers and tank. Not sure how many they made and whether they made any certificates.

4. They then made the second edition, some were replicas of the 1st edition and sime were new. These did not come with certicates or the box with the gold 1st edition seal. These were:
AN01 battle for the bridge
AN02 Fighting Withdraw
AN04 The gunners
AN08 Mortar team
AN12 Street Fighting
AN13 Defendwers
AN14 - John Frost, Horrocks & Urguhart
AN15 Bren Gun carrier
AN16 Daimer Armoured car (3 figures & fire)
AN16A Daimler Armoured car (single figure in turret - only made 11 or 16 of these). i have only seen this come up once and was outbid by a small amount.

When you look at the 1st and 2nd edition you can definately tell which is which by the paint and the better detail on the second edition. Also the first edition Arnhem sign is smaller than the 2nd edition version.

I would love to get my hands on the wooden bren gun carrier or the AN16A. But suspect who ever has these will not gibe them up!
