In my opinion KC tanks and vehicles (guess are 1/30)are little smaller than figures ( guess are 1/28). Wouldn' t you like they are both the same scale? Personally, I would have liked. Still I don' t understand why they haven' t been made the same scale....

Because the vast majority of customers will prefer it that way. I think we often get wrapped up in how important this forum is when we say things like the majority of collectors want compatibility etc. well, do they really? The big selling ranges would seem to be ones where there are few if any vehicles. SOHK, LAH, Naps AE to name a few scale really is not a big issue in these ranges as it seems to be for some in other ranges.

I like accuracy and detail as much as the next well, even more but, I just don't get stressed over figure size as these are not set in stone measurements. People vary in height and, don't have bases stuck to their feet so, for me, there is room for movement. Also, I have yet to see anyone say well why are figures in the hobby all the same size in height? that's unrealistic in the extreme but, we hear of compatibility all the time. To have every figure the same height in a dio is as unrealistic as having one that stands taller than what some say is realistic at the side of a AFV.

I would also suspect that very few of the collectors actually display in diorama settings and, have them in cabinets etc where this is not an issue.

If customers did not want it this way it would not be happening so, that speaks for itself IMO

I'm happy with K&C as they are ^&cool

Being new to the hobby I think that the scales look great together. The diorama pictures look just great. I model in the ACW period so I do not deal with vehicles. Just the figures. I use 'O' scale train trees for My dio's and I am very pleased with Them:wink2:

Well I'm sure profit is what drives K&C, but I don't mind the vehicles being a slightly smaller scale for space reasons. K&C does make nice large interesting figures so I'd prefer they keep that same style/size. 1/30 is a good minimum scale for large AFVs & I think it's a good idea to go 1/28 on small items like artillery-it's a judgment call. In the K&C brand, the figures have always carried the story for me. The vehicles have been supplementary material to spice up the story.

In FL, the brand where figs & vehicles are scaled correctly, I feel the figs & vehicles are intertwined. Both are necessary for the story (to me) due to the small size of the figs. The FL figs photograph well with macro lens as you can see on the board, but how often to I stare at my figs with my nose to them? From a comfortable viewing distance, K&C figs seem sized in the sweet spot to carry the story solo. To have a Jagdtiger sized 1/28 would detract from the figs imo.

Interesting, good explanation.

I agree !!!!! If you want a true scale rendition of the real thing both figures and vehicles should be exactly 1/30!!! Period!!!

I had never done a comparison of the tanks and vechicles are smaller than the human figures... but one thing for sure the scale/dimensions of tanks does matches so closely to the real thing

Scaled it down for comparison....
