KC Tank Riders (1 Viewer)

FOV vehicles are 1/32 scale and most K & C figures are 1/30 scale making them slightly larger than 1/32 figures. But it really depends upon how fussy you are about different scale sizes. If you are happy to have figures that are slightly bigger than the vehicle they should be ok.

Dear OZ, Have you or other FOV collectors ever find a tank that might have been made oversized for 1/32 ? And could you list them. Since at times, KC seems undersized, I am looking for some cheap pickups that I might try to K/C detail and paint to match............Michael

Michael,

I don't know if 21stC is a little too 'toy like' for your tastes, but the Panther is a pretty large tank and doesn't seem ridiculous to me when offered up against K&C figures.

Both Frontline and ONTC have sets of 1/32 tank riders, both in US and German versions. They are made specifically to fit FOV tanks and work very well. FOV Tigers are smaller than K&C.

Michael, to be honest I haven't measured or noted any concerns regarding the FOV tank sizes. But to me all the FOV vehicles seem accurate in size being all 1/32 scale but the FOV German Panzer figures are only 1/35 scale which makes them look a bit undersized for the FOV tanks, but it isn't to obvious. So I guess you could combine some K & C figs with FOV tanks, they would look a bit big for the FOV tanks but may suit your taste.

Btw, it's been my experience that any issues with model tanks etc concerns 1/35 scale tanks and vehicles being advertised as 1/32 scale. This happened a number of times in the past when US plastic kit companies such as Monogram used Japanese 1/35 scale molds for their 1/32 range, the Monogram White Armoured car being a well known example. Consequently any diecast or polystone copies of those early 1/35 plastic kits would result in 1/35 scale vehicles, but I'm no aware of any.

Wow, look at the bulk of the K&C figures compared to the turret. Looks like a tough fit.

Take a look at the Frontline series of tank riders - I had them set up on the same tank as Alex and they fit in way better.

Yea....That diorama was done when I had limited resources. That is why I kept the Panther in the backround. Alex

Ya know I always thought the FOV figs that came with as crews were 1/35? Yet compared with say dragons can do 1/35 they are bigger. Yet a touch smaller the 21st centurys 1:32????

The FOV figures with the German tanks are 1/35 but the other FOV tank crews seem to be 1/32.
