Just wondering if any of you who ordered the 1st part of the Gordon set have received it yet and if so what do you think of it? Do the figures climbing up the stairs stay in place or do they need Tacky Wax? Are the stairs very heavy?

Thanks,

Randy

Mine's in the mail; expect it next week.

As I recall from the prototype I saw at Hobby Bunker, the figures on the stairs are pegged and fit into holes.

Got mine today at the London show :D All I can say is that it will be worth the wait. :)

Jeff

I must admit I was sorely tempted today, but I need to catch up on the other ranges first. From the figures on display on the TMT stand today I think this is some of JJ's finest work.

I just had to buy this  and it is my first JJD set! :)

The creepy Mahdists have brass rods protruding from their knees/feet which locate into holes on the stairs.

A very nice set and I am pleased with my first JJD purchase, looking forward to the other figures to complete this diorama.

Jeff

Thank you for posting these photos. Now I see the peg system--very ingenious.

How heavy is the stair part? I ask because I have glass shelves with a 25 lb limit for my figures. John's figures usually weigh about 7 oz. each.

Randy

Congratulations, Jeff,
to this fine addition to you collection.
The complete diorama will make for an excellent display.

Randy,

I have just weighed the complete set (thats the stairs and 4 figures) - 1lb 11oz.

A nice addition to the collection will be neat to see it along side the WB figures.

Not that I am going to but if I was I would collect this series from JJD. It is totally different in it's sculpting than his other ranges which do not appeal to me.

Hi Jeff,
if you don't mind, could you put the Gordon Figure next to one of your Britains figures, maybe a standing 24th Foot figure, and make a photo?
The sculpting on this JJ set seems to be a little more "thinner".

Konrad,

I would like to  but I sold all my Zulu War figures at the show on Saturday to fund this and the forthcoming WB War on the Nile range. Sorry......

Jeff

Alright,
I understand. I know how you were waiting for a Sudan range ;)
Looking forward to exchange the collecting experience of this range with you.

Really looks great Jeff But I'm sticking to my guns and not starting any other range until I catch up and finish the BOS range. They way it's starting out with some great new ranges and the new year not here yet god only knows what great ranges is will be coming out in 2010.Looks like a win win for us.:D:D:D

Hand a hunch you would'nt leave the show without the set Jeff and once again another outstanding job with the photos. Looking forward to seeing your collection grow and photos of it.
