Well Guys,

Check them out on the King and Country website. That German Pz. IV Gray short barrel is Sweat! However, no other WWII releases are part of this release or not yet announced.

Nice WWII armored Car and great looking charging German Calvary and I believe there Russian Napolanics.

Enjoy,

Carlos

I really like the armoured car. The gray Panzer IV is a possibility for me too since it would work for my Barbarossa scene. However, I never did care much for the appearance of the real life short barrelled Panzer IV - it has that ugly antenna bending device attached underneath the main gun (hard to see in the K&C picture, but it's there).

A lot of good vehicles being retired this month, some after only 1 year on the market?? Bugger.

Love the new IC set.
Quite like the WWI Uhlans.

Capitolron will be happy with the new Naps. Rod will luv the grey Panzer IV - but no new EA...??? (Not so far anyway...:(:(:()
Looks like I'll have to do the Bren Gun Carrier repaint myself.

Cheers

Those Russians are great. They will look so cool fending off the Curassiers trying to capture the redoubt at Borodino.

Like the Panzer IV a lot, would look good next to the Stug and Kubelwagon. The armoured car is also nice, slightly tempted by that.

Same here, and how far away can a grey Tiger be

I can't figure why the Winter Hummel is being retired, maybe there's a recolor in the wings.

Btw, any bets on the next Kettenkrad being an A/Korps version ;)

The Hummel wasn't around long was it?.Glad i got one. Also the Dingo scout car is departing for retirement.

Rob

Guess we'll have to wait a month for EA, oh well:(

However, the good news is that WW II collectors mostly get a break. The bad news is that the WW I releases look fabulous. Will be getting the armored car and one of those Uhlans for sure.

Well I have been trying to hold off WW1 but with that armoured car and those great cavalry I may have to take the plunge after all. Not very keen on the grey panzer but not a great fan of grey anyway so no surprise there. I am really pleased there are no more WW2 being produced this month as finding it hard to keep up with the constant month in month out production.
Overall though a very pleasing month for everybody!

Gotta love that grey panzer, figures look great with it:D:D:D:cool::cool::cool:
if you notice on the K&C website the AK panzer is done out cool with the ak tank riders, looks more like the old photos with loads of troops hitching a ride:cool:

Very nice prototype the Panzer IV, finally we got some from the early Feldgrau Germans campaign. Another good thing is that K&C for the second time (first was the new releases of the BBG) mentioned something related to east front, Barbarossa…..:)

Cheers

Must say from the pics Pete posted the tracks on the new MKIV look very good.

Rob

The armoured car should be a big hit. The figure looks great too.

Hi Guys,

Dont mind if i ask (I have not been following KC threads for quite a while), Will the new Panzer IV Fob039(1) be scale-compatible with the classic germans figures? (Same scale?)

my intention is to get the Panzer IV besides my walking Whermacht MG team WS040.

Thanks!

Sincerely,

Nasir kasmani.

Excuse me asking this but what exactly was the point of a bren gun carrier. It looks like a wee tractor to me. I presume a soldier could carry a bren gun. So why was a whole little tractor built just to carry one?

At that time the army wanted badly to develop a motorised warfare, so any excuse to try new prototypes of kamfwagen krieg….:D

I think so….

Well it was used as a platform for (along with the Bren)Vickers MG,Boys anti tank rifle ETC.It was also used to tow anti tank guns and carrying Mortars. There were variations that mounted flame throwers and a variant made in Australia.Apparently it was the most produced armoured vehicle of WW2 (Wikipeadia??).But it does look a bit small to be of any real use doesn't it,but very popular with the Brits none the less.

Hi Nasir,

Yes this Panzer IV looks to be part of K&C's new larger, more accurate scale vehicles, so it should be more scale-compatible with the WS040 set than most K&C vehicles of the past. The WS040 figures are some of the largest ones made by K&C, so they need a large scaled vehicle like this one. I have the same idea as you, combining those two sets in a Barbarossa scene.

Debrito, I bet they added that reference to Barbarossa to cover themselves after all the fuss I made about the FOB StuG's unit not actually being in France.:D

Just to add what Rob has said, I found this on the web.....

BREN GUN CARRIER (UNIVERSAL/WINDSOR) (DUXFORD)

The role envisaged for the Bren Gun carrier was as a fast, lightly armoured vehicle that would carry infantry across ground denied by small arms fire, affording them a protective taxi service to the battlefront. A further specific task was to transport the Bren Light Machine Gun and its team in a reconnaissance and intervention platoon setting within a front line Headquarters Company of an Infantry battalion. It was this task that produced the familiar name 'Bren Carrier' which was applied to the group of vehicles of similar design. The Bren Carrier soon became the name which the troops came to adopt when referring to this tracked armour type. Vehicles such as the Windsor T16 carrier of Canada and several others that were made by a variety of manufacturers across the Commonwealth and all exhibited minor differences. This group of tracked vehicles were known by the name Universal carriers in the British Army of WW2.

The hull of the Universal carrier was made from a simple steel plating, welded in a box pattern, with an engine compartment located at the centre of the vehicle. The driver sat toward the front and to the right. He was partnered by a gunner sat inline with him to his left. The gunner's sole job was to operate the weapon , either a Bren .303 LMG or .55 Boyes Anti-tank rifle, when required to defend the vehicle or protect the troops carried.

Interestingly, even though this vehicle had been designed to carry infantry into battle, it was impossible to issue orders or hear a conversation because of the volume of noise created by the radiator's cooling fan. The radiator was mounted between the front two crewmen! No intercom system was mounted on the vehicle to compensate for the noise levels. Rectangular stowage compartments behind the two front crewmen catered for the transport of either stores and ammunition, or fully equipped infantrymen. Over 40, 000 Universal carriers were built by Canadian, Australian, New Zealand and British manufacturers during the war.
