Greg,
nice pick up, this is something that has always interested me but has eluded me!
Tom

Greg,
Here is a picture...what horse numbers did you aquire? The brochure states they were commissioned pieces for the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club!

At $80 for the pair you should be really, really happy...if not, then sell them to me for $320 and watch me be really really happy:smile2::smile2::smile2:

I have the one in the red silks but it's not for sale or trade :)

I was curious if they were boxed and what type of box and how many different were produced?

Funny thing the seller described them as KING & COUNTRY , but there are no markings on them and he was not a "toy soldier" guy. ...Brad is yours that way ? Is it boxed?

I will take some photos over the wekend and post them here. \
Thanks Greg

Greg,

Mine wasn't boxed. I'm on vacation until a week from Thursday so I will let you know then. Some of the old glossy, as you know, didn't have markings.

I have never owned or collected any Glossy figures but I have always found them very nice to look at, as these K&C Glossy figures look very good as well...Sammy

Sammy,

Andy made some cool glossies. Wish hed make them again.

Brad

I just looked at your picutres, that is what I have, two different silks. I will pst a pic or two over the weekend.

I found them at an auction house in Colorado, a couple of months ago. Shipping was crappy and they got a bit nicked up on there travel.

Thanks for the information....Greg

Greg,

I've got an excellent repair person. If you're interested, let me know. He's not very expensive. Tom can vouch for his quality.

Yes, I can, repairs are not noticeable at all, he can make something look like factory fresh.
Greg, you got a nice find!

FYI, guys, if you go to the Treefrog Treasures Photo Gallery, then go to the Louis Badolato section on page 3, photo #8 shows 6 jockey figures. -- Al

Dear Greg,

There were originally 3 mounted jockeys as shown in the catalog in this thread which sold for $42 in 1994. These sets were listed under the heading "A Day at the Races." K&C later added 3 more sets for a total of 6 and the price went up to $48. They are all the same sculpt with the only difference the design and colors of the jockey "silks," and the number on the horse: JC1-#8, JC2-#11, JC3-#2, JC4-#5, JC5-#7 and JC6-#9. All my figures came in the old green K&C box with a K&C sticker placed on the top. In 1997, JC1-#8 was reissued with a new horse sculpt which can be seen in Louis' collection as the horse with the black saddle blanket. These figures no longer appear in the K&C catalog starting in 1998:smile2:
