I just listed last night my first set I ever bought from K& C. There is a post in the classified section I made a few days with some of the sets I will offer

Here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/King-Country-AN...iers?hash=item35a2f071a5&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

I am going to list more sets in the near future, at least 1 a week.

Why am I selling? I love K&C but with my new 6 week old daughter at home I need to raise some capital :)

My loss is surely someone elses gain here! Goodluck

I think you may be asking a little too much on the Buy it Now, however.

I may, however the reserve is much lower. Thank you :)

I bought this 3 years ago for $350, which was my first ever Arnhem set, I may have paid too much for it in other people's views, but to me it felt right, I also bought the Mortar Team for $28 - I think it was!:)

The final bid price for one of these King & Country AN001 sets was just under USD $300.00 about one or two months ago.

I meant $280.00, and it was a 2nd edition one!:)

Thanks for the interest in AN001 Battle for the bridge.

I say the following with respect to the posters here as I get the slight feeling some may not be happy with my "Buy it now option". As I stated the reserve is much lower so if the reserve is met it will sell :)

My set has:
-The original box
-A certificate of authenticity
-Is a 1st edition
-Is in superb condition

I have seen this set sell for $500 dollars in 2006 and I believe in the mid $600 dollar range twice. Here we are in 2009 and I always considered the Arnhem series one of the best to collect, next to the Afrika Korps series. I sincerely believe that a 1st edition AN001 in excellent condition would be welcomed in any King & Country collection. The Arnhem series has that magic about it.

As a seller I have to ask myself, what do I feel comfortable selling such a cherished piece for? It's a hard decision to make and it was hard to sell this set, when I held the individual soldiers that had long been stored away and looked at each soldier and took the pictures for Ebay I had to think twice and three times about selling this set. I almost packed it back up!

I hope this clarifies things, warm regards
John

Hey mate:)

Mean this with respect, I bought mine for $350.00 without certificate, but I realised later that I payed maybe $70.00 too much, but I still think that a buy it now $750.00 is still too much, I mean John Gamble has this set, and I am sure he's part with it for much less!:)

.................................................................

First off you are certainly entitled to ask whatever you like for your lovely

set, after all it is yours.:) The final value is something between you as the

seller and whoever chooses to buy it .....should it sell.

I am writting because as many folks know I keep a fairly decent record of

prices realized and current values of many King & Country Sets. I have not

recorded a price of $500 or $600 for this set yet. My highest price shown is

$355 with a $337, and a $330 also shown. The $355 was with certificate. I

did have a computer crash early in 2007 but I received Brad's list to update

my new list on 2/19/2007. I might have been asleep but I seriously doubt that

I missed the $500 and $600 sales......what say you Brad?:)

Hi John,

Thanks very much for posting the added information.

The prospect of parting with this fine set must be painful for you.

I suspect deep down part of you says I hope it does not sell, so I can keep it.

Good Luck, Raymond.

:)

John,

I do have one sale for $500 in 2006 but that is not the norm. The usual or the mean price tends to be in the $350 range, which is what I probably paid for mine a few years ago.

Brad thanks, I guess I missed it on your list! I'll add one at 5 bills.:D

Thanks for the replies,

I did look at AN002 also in my considerations since they are of similar size and followed each other. I also put into consideration the single para with tommy gun that also sold recently.

Again, thank you for the polite discussion. Glossman you are absolutely right my friend, part of me does hope the set does not sell :) If it does sell I will tell myself, as with all K&C items that are traded and sold...they find good homes.

All due respect, John Gambale in no way sets the market on these sets. Anytime I have ever tried to purchase anything, no picture is ever provided and what he wants for his sets is way above any cost.

Again, there are different Arnhem sets here, the one with the small sign and certificate is quite rare. I have seen them for sale from private sellers many times and it is always in the 5's. Also, in these and Vietnam's case, with the certificate and mint is a big plus when talking about the rarity.

This is this man's auction, if he gets 750, more power to him, just because a set is out of your or someone else's ballpark, that's life.

Again, no offense here, but comparing what one man will sell vs another is apples to oranges, you have no idea of condition, box, use, etc.

Tom

I agree with you 100% !!

Everyone has the right to sell anything in their collection for whatever price they would like. It is no one's business except the seller and the buyer.

If you think that an item is overpriced that is your right - but, it should not cause you to criticize the individual selling the item - that is his right.

Prices on K&C products are going up and down all over the boards on Ebay - it is a buyers market.

And we should also remember that there will be people who make more money than you and can buy more things than you - so get over it - and don't take out on the seller when you can't have an item you want. IMHO. :)

If he sells it he sells it.If not he will drop the price or withdraw it.His choice.

Mark, Ron,
Good points, it is his choice! Case in point, I recently sold my drum horse, I had a bare minimum I would accept. I received some unwanted grief from fellow collectors. Well, guess what, it sold the day I put it up, no questions asked, and I assume the recipient is happy. Everybody has a price and opinion on items, that makes a market!! I usually stay away from these discussions, but in this case, the discussion that was occuring in a public forum was unnecessay and the comparisons are downright ridiculous.

IMO

I agree with Tom & Rons' points but please also bear in mind that Scott is only 16.

Ya, I sometimes forget that, it is an impressionable age!!!!! Just kidding Scott, good advice for you, keep up the professional skepticism when dealing with all future deals, it is truly a buyer beware.

You really can't consider the AN11 Single Para with Thompson it is a unique

piece. First off only 65 pieces were made for and sold by King & Country UK.

I first saw it a few years ago offered on Ebay by a fellow that used to split

up sets......it sold for I believe $35:eek: I then began looking for it and

watched it exceed $400! It really is a terrific piece, and I recently

passed one to another Forum member for his Arnhem display! I consider

myself very lucky to still have a couple on duty!:)
