King&Country Cathay Pacific Set. (1 Viewer)

It's allready 129 Pounds. Kind of reminds me of the HK Post office set. Rather unattractive set however.

Wow!!

When Larry wants something, you might as well wave the white flag :)

I rather like the set! The only missing element is the First Officer sans the dreaded white gloves which is/was customary at Cathay.

Happy Hunting,
Beaufighter

Its at £206 now with over 4and a half days left ,i suppose somebody wants it(or is it a need?)

I could be mistaken but isn't the buyer Mr. Markeytmaker? If so, I wonder what Mrs. Maker makes of that :D

I made a run in the last minute, but 525 British Pounds was my limit. That's the only glossy set I had never laid eyes on. At least I saw the photos.

Louis...I reckon that makes this set somewhat rare:cool:

Yes, but I have the K&C wood Ford Tri-Motor airliner and China Clipper Flying Boat that they were to be displayed with, and those planes are even rarer.;)

It is a fantastic pick up for you. If I am not mistaken only about 200-500 sets were made as a special project for Cathay Pacific. Because they were primarily sold to passengers on the airlines, very few have made their way into Toy Soldier collections. Its as rare a set as my Les Miserables set, another special project that was sold primarily to people attending the musical in Hong Kong, or presented to the cast and crew.

Louis, send me a picture of that China Clipper at your convience...I would like to see it.

Mark,

It should be on Bill Sager's site. If not, please let me know. I have photos of most planes in Louis' collection.

Mark,

Got your pm. Not sure why it's not on his website but here you go :)

First two of the Ford Trimotor, last one is the Clipper.

Brad posted photos of my two K&C passenger planes for you (thanks Brad!). K&C also did a De Haviland Dragon Rapide.

I had planned to set up a little scene with those Cathay Pacific figures, my glossy K&C Captain Clark Gable figure and these two passenger planes, until someone even crazier than me decided to pay 535 British Pounds for the set.:p:D
