Why does this set get no respect??? I have this in my personal collection, and it is one of my favorites.

K&C will never make anything like this again.

I do not post very often, but I just taught myself to insert a picture from MY DOCUMENTS !!!!!!!!!!

I have one, it's a terrific set, I think most found it too expensive when it came out.

I have it in my collection as well and quite happy to have it

Because KC never released the trailer typically used by this vehicle. IMO

Too big and too expensive (for that time). Moreover, too many were made. As a result, it's still available from dealers. Treefrog, alone, has 21 of these in stock. Yes, 21, I kid you not.

Hi Guys,

Re the above ... Originally, I wanted to do the tank transporter version BUT when we looked at the overall, combined size ... almost 2ft. long! Plus the cost of manufacture ... retail ... and shipping, it was definitely “A Bridge Too Far”.

And so we produced the “Armoured Recovery Tractor” version. Looking back from today it was expensive then ... but amazing value now !

I still love it, and I know others do too ... It’s one big mama and that’s for sure.

Maybe one of these days we’ll do that transporter ... After all ... “Never Say Never!”

Best wishes and happy collecting,
Andy

I love this set! Got 2 of them and converted one to M25 "Dragon Wagon' (combo M26 w/ 40-ton M15 Trailer I scratch-built some years ago). Attached are some pictures. Search this site under "Enter the Dragon" for more pictures.

Hey N-P, thanks for the update, I remember seeing photos of your terrific trailer conversion when you posted them originally :salute::

A pity that K & C didn't include the trailer at the time, but maybe one day.

Not had too much time lately to read all the threads but i stumbled across this one and just had to comment. I too have this Tractor,i ordered it the minute it came out and it remains one of my favorite KC pieces and i have to say i prefer this version to the trailer type. Yes it was relatively expensive at the time but this is a vehicle with what i call a WOW...!!!!!! factor so it was quite easy to rectify the purchase.....and personaly i feel no serious WWII collection is complete without one..!!. Would i buy the trailer>>NO, would i love to see more US. WWII Engineer stuff..OH YES!!

Agree mate it is a beast and the pics and conversion by Noli-Poli is first class thanks for posting.

This is one of my all-time favorites. It is great as a stand alone piece or can fit into any number of dioramas.

I might pick-up another one (or two).
