Well an excellent first edition of dispatches for the new year. The RAMCKE Brigade figures look terrific and would be a splendid North Africa addition. The Marines are also extremely good with all action poses and are a very tempting range. For me though the Stug and Panzer Grenadiers are the stand out. I can see these trying to hold up my overwhelming UK and US forces.

Good Evening Andy .... Absolute, I would purchase a "Special Edition" set of the USMC figures. The Camouflage BDU's are not any big issue with me, but if the special sets had the camouflage, additional gear or some unique addition ... that would be a wonderful addition.

What I actually suggested was taking a small, select group of our existing Marines and producing some Special Edition 'camouflaged' versions. That alone adds a little extra cost...But hopefully not too much!

'Additional gear' and 'some unique additions' means a whole new master figure...new molds...adds further extra costs....and so it goes.

And as I said before, it starts to defeat one of the purposes of this great series namely 'To produce the widest possible range of WW2 U.S. Marines in action at a very affordable price that many collectors and others can afford.

Now, first things first, let's go forward together...Some of the things you're hoping for I'm more than sure will appear in this great series...But we can't produce everything all at the same time...

That would spoil all the fun!

Andy,Geez I'm on a roll.......Maybe consider UNPAINTED kits in this series.Multipose PTO figures in metal....Conte quality in metal...just a thought.
Oh,black Marines did fight with line grunts, albeit in small numbers,especially in later engagements...resupply/commo/litter bearers sometimes
stayed with depleted units....a welcome addition in MANY instances.

Fully understand the consequences of (adding and modifying) the sculpts. In any case, either a camo paint scheme (for a little extra cost) or a new, more complex sculpt with gear and such (for a higher price) I would be in to all that are produced.

Always something for me in K&C's monthly releases! A little disappointed that there were no Romans as I thought that they and Ancients were on a "roll".
While there is momentum (high interest) why not release monthly for a period of time. Lots of competition from TG, JJD, FL and TCS but I really like the K&C sculpts.
More action figures, camp life and artillery would be welcome.

January 2018​

WELCOME to the first ‘DISPATCHES’ of the New Year and a bumper bundle of great new releases to add to your collection! Let’s, without further ado, get started...

1. APPREARING IN JANUARY 2018

A. The Ramcke Brigade
In 1942 among the reinforcements being sent from Germany to Erwin Rommel’s ‘Afrika Korps’ in their assault towards the Suez Canal was a full brigade of Luftwaffe paratroopers (Fallschirmjagers) under the command of General Hermann-Bernhard RAMCKE.

These crack troops (almost 3,000 strong) were attached to the Italian 25th Infantry Division ‘Bologna’ and fought at the Battle of El Alamein. Although incurring heavy losses and surrounded on all sides they managed to break out and capture a huge British supply column. In addition to looting all the much-needed supplies they also utilized the captured vehicles to transport the Brigade’s survivors back to the safety of the Axis lines.

Throughout their service in North Afrika Ramcke’s men were famous for their audacious and bold fighting abilities... often against heavy odds. Their famous and well-deserved reputation and recognition was as much recognized and admired by their British enemy as well as their fellow Afrika Korps comrades.

This is the first of two releases of General Ramcke’s men... in action!

AK120 “The Fire Support Team” (2-man set)
As one lying prone MG34 gunner, keeps the enemy’s heads down his ‘spotter’ (with the binos and pistol) observes the ‘fall of shot’.

AK121 “Signals Officer”
This white-capped FJ officer receives the latest orders from H.Q. via his field telephone.

AK122 “Kneeling Firing”
In any ‘action’ collection a rifleman in this position is a ‘must have’!

AK123 “Standing Firing”
Almost as important and invaluable as the figure above is the standing rifleman... Both men are armed with the standard Mauser K98 carbine / rifle.

AK126 “Standing Ready”
This MP-40 ‘Schmeisser’ – armed Paratrooper is already a veteran of airborne campaigns in Holland, Belgium and Crete... He’s tough, battle-hardened and experienced... Hence he gets the Schmeisser.

I truly appreciate your support and enthusiasm for our/your Marines and I am going to incorporate some of your ideas and suggestions in future releases...

Now here's a big question for yourself and other 'Leatherneck' collectors...Would you be willing to pay a bit more if K&C released a 'Special Edition' of some, not all, of our Marines in Camouflage BDU's..???

I'm enjoying the return to the Pacific. Would second the suggestion for hospital corpsmen and even a navy doctor (my grandfather was a navy doctor serving on the USS Sibley in action around Iwo Jima and occupied Japan). Also as a suggestion for the figures you have been producing based on movie heroes (Fury, Kelly's Heroes), how about the motorcycle & side car from Where Eagles Dare?

Just some thoughts, always enjoy the new releases and the effort you put into your products.
