KING & COUNTRY Dispatches -- September 2016 (1 Viewer)

Hi Steve,

As an Artillery fan myslef, I am happy that such a nice set has been produced.....But for the price they go for, I would not expect primary errors as such as this one.....how come they did not take the time to validate the arms colour..{eek3}{eek3}...Look forward that this goof up is in the test run only and will be fixed on the sales roll out.....Or they expect us to pay these prices and still have to do after market fixes.....
Cheers

One word.....YES!!!!!!!!!!. Waffenfarbe should indeed be red. All together a really nice set from KC, but i will not be buying it as i have the complete set of the 105mm cannon and half track for the Afrika Korps....Why not have both i hear some of you thinking....The answer is easy
to buy the whole set will cost more than it is worth>>(to me)<< and unproportionally much, much more than the AK set. It is also unaceptable that at these prices KC are still making silly mistakes...this time wrong colour pipings.....It should not happen!!!!.

Gee...here I go....my hobby budget has already been extended beyond breaking point........but cannot miss on this .....^&cool
If the wife hears this I am KIA.........{sm2}{sm2}{sm2}

I was afraid of this, more awesome Jerries and vehicles! Oh dear, back to the soup kitchen line up as i'll be broke again...^&grin

Interesting to see a grey version of the old AK artillery piece and halftrack.

The "coastal gunners" sets have the same error. I was hoping that was a one-off mistake.

Reminds me of a similar mistake that KC made a few years back. They released a number of figures for a Luftwaffe Field Division...nice figures but they had red Waffenfarbe instead of the green denoting Feldjagers which they should have had...suppose you could make the excuse that they were originally artillery men turned feldjagers...but it does"nt cut it with me..!!. It seems that KC do not learn from their mistakes and obviously do not do their homework.....As i said, it should not happen, and definately not at these prices. These mistakes are i think a little insulting to the serious collector, or do they hope that we just don"t know what we are buying..??.

Nice releases. I like saucy Jack. Always thought a rogue's gallery of famous criminals or gangsters would be a cool line, but I trend toward the gloomy side. Maybe a Sepp Dietrich too far though. It seems like KC has done him several times already. I think the only version left undone is Sepp in his pajamas.

The Shannon set is a must have for me. Having met her and Peter, I can also say the nurse reminds me of her. Great job!

'' Bite of approval!

Very disappointing. No interest here.

Given that this is a 'Toy Soldier Forum', is there really such a market for Jack the Ripper, associated prostitutes, and Cowboys?

And yet more Sepp Dietrichs, ceremonial Nazis and streets of Hong Kong do not excite any interest.

Would have expected to see AK, LRDG, Market Garden, BOB, Kriegsmarine and Normandy.

More toy soldiers please.

Yes, and WW2 CIVILIANS, more interesting and new poses, ww2 german police and firemen, more axes allies...

I have been waiting for both a new General Bradley and Hermann Goring to add to my personality collection. Also the German war correspondent would be a nice addition to my Fuhrerbunker display. These will work wonderfully! :)

Cameron, Yes.... When I saw the new WH066 Propaganda Cameraman I thought.....Berlin Bunker Dio figure !

I read the comments about the shoulder board piping on the German artillery crew figures, which would be Red for Artillery crews.
These new figures have White shoulder boards indicating Infantry. That being said, surely Infantry troops were pressed into action
operating Guns needing a crew ! 4 of my personal favorites are the WH066 Propaganda Camerman.....Going to be used in my
Berlin Bunker display. WH063 Officer looking sharp. LAH203 Goring and LAH204 Sepp looking quite sharp ! I can see the new
Jack the Ripper causing havoc in a Dickens display as well ^&grin

So which bank are you going to be robbing Harrie..?? You are going to need to buy 3 of these suckers for your diorama!!. Would be a really cool dio though.

snafu45

Yes Steve, I work on a tunnel to the bank, but is not ready for 2045. I think you catch a moment of the Brécourt Manor Assault and create a diorama with one gun.

Maybe..can"t say yes or no because i was"nt there. But i would think rather unlikely, and i would imagine that untrained infantrymen pressed into action on an artillery piece would quickly blow themselves up..(think of setting timers and fuses) or lose their fingers loading the breech. I hasten to add i have no experience of operating an artillery piece but i am sure there are guys on the forum who could agree or disagree with my theory. In any case we should not have to search for excuses to make good the errors of others,KC got it wrong again. end of the day, if you like it buy it!!, but i will pass.

Of course. in extremis infantry could, and were be pressed into service to man artillery pieces. However, when you consider the truly vast amount of cheap, easily accessable reference material that is out there on the German armed forces in WWII, I am surprised that error was not spotted during the production process.

I am sure wether it is one gun or three that it will be a knockout!!...which is excactly what Winters and his men did with the guns at Brecort Manor.....KNOCKOUT!!!!!!!.

Many thanks for the correction on the Waffenfarbe colour...It should indeed be red and is being changed to that as I type out these words.

It was my first thought as well seeing how I missed out on the previous cameraman sets. Excited! :salute::

I was pleasantly surprised this morning not remembering that it was Sep 1/Dispatch Day. I think this is really a nice variety of pieces for different collectors this go around. An unexpected and diverse collection in fact. Some interesting opinions from fellow fans as well.

would have expected to see AK, LRDG, Market Garden, BOB, Kriegsmarine and Normandy.
Definitely agree with you on the AK pieces. I think we're good on LRDG for a while with the jeep and three figures last month, but it has been some time since we've seen new DAK. I've about given up on the Kriegsmarine. Don't know if we'll ever see these again.

I have the DAK 105 but unfortunately not the track. I really like the gray version of the 105 although I think I may consider only buying the new officer. I have the coastal gun crew which seems very similar (see below). In fact I think it will work just fine. I like how the new officer has a crate vs. another ammo box.

I think WH060 “SPG Crew Members” is my favorite among this month's dispatches.
I really like this duo as well. The commander looks fantastic with a great facial expression. The loader reminds me a bit of the engineers from a few years back (see below). Nice addition to any tank; although I think I would prefer a standard base for the commander vs. the grey base. K&C must have planned for him to be standing inside the SPG.

Sepp Dietrich looks very nice as well. Love the coat.
