King&Country January 2014 Dispatches Are Up !!! (3 Viewers)

Ahh, the 25 pounder with Aussie and Brit crews are out as well as the tractor and limber. All these are a must as well as the camo Hanomag and the Jerries carrying the pig and apples!

Thanks for the pic's PA!

Tom

It's great to see the 25 pounder and desert quad on the list. I can't wait to purchase one of K&C's big guns. The desert building looks pretty nice as well. I don't want to complain but I see the pricing on the Brits and Aussies at $44. I miss the $32 price tag on K&C's earlier desert figures. In any case, they are nice.

The 25 pounder and Oz crew are now on my very long wish list. Oh dear more overtime it seems...{sm4}

The 25 Pounder QF Field Gun with Aussie crew is the best of the bunch this time, and that's coming from a NAP collector!!!

Reason for me is that I served on these guns and my old Regiment's origins was the 2/7th Field Regt RAA who fought at El Alamein between July and November 1942.

Andy said to me in July when he visited here and showed off the European Theatre set that he was going to make a couple of 8th Army sets in both Aussie and British uniforms, and so I'm sure that both of these will be most welcome by collectors of the North African campaign and gunners :)

Well Done,

John

A very good bunch of releases covering wide area of interests.

I like the horses pose on Von Moltke.

Interesting to note the Royal Marines are NA's and not NE's.

The British 25 pounder and crew is superb, pick of the bunch.^&cool Will sit nicely with the original too,

Thanks PA
Rob

The 25 pounder and tractor and limber looks great. Look forward to seeing them in person. Have the originals but may opt for these too.

Looks like the Alamo Resin figures will be in the traditional February release slot . Thats if the production issues I heard about have been sorted.

I thought the same initially so checked on my Historical Resources for the Egyptian Campaign but the Order of Battle for the British Forces did not include Royal Marines, so I assumed that they didn't land and only served on the ships.

Maybe more research into the RM could shed some light as to what land based battles they fought in, possibly in the Peninsular War or was it only as seaborn raiding parties on the coast of France?

Any suggestions most welcome?

The Royal Marines were under the command of the navy and fought on board ship and in small coastal raids along the coast of France during the Napoleonic wars. There was a contingent of RMs at the Battle of Bunker Hill and the British warships had RMs on the ships as was normal at the naval battle of the Nile. But I don't think the RMs had any land role in Egypt.

Wayne could make a portion of deck out of paddle pop sticks. Add some rigging, source a backdrop and presto!

Does Bob know a Trafalgar diorama has been added to the list ?^&grin I am assuming Hornblower was at Trafalgar as would not want to be inaccurate.

Please don't encourage Jack anymore, still trying to image how to make a 'dam' dio...{sm2}
Wayne.

Beersheba
Western Front
Rorke's Drift
The Dams Raid
North Africa 1942
Waterloo
Trafalgar (only needs to be a small one)
Battle of Britain Airfield

Plenty of options!!

To me this figure is another thinking outside of the box idea by K&C. I bet this scene occurred on many occasions :wink2: Dice up a captured swine versus eating daily rations or no rations at all !

My wife bought me a K98 Mauser for Christmas. I showed her this pic today and without even a word from me she said that she is not buying me a pig.

The one reference of British Marines in the Egyptian campaign that I have encountered was in Paul Strathern's Napoleon in Egypt, as regards to the Siege of Acre 1799. A British squadron under Commodore Sydney Smith landed both sailors and marines to bolster the Ottoman defences against the French. If this may be included as an Egyptian land campaign ... :salute::
