To : ALL Collectors & Retailers of King & Country in the U.K.
From : KING & COUNTRY HONG KONG LTD.

This past Tuesday, 14 June 12016, Mr. Mike Neville of King & Country U.K. informed me that his company would cease trading with immediate effect.

For more than 21 years our joint companies have enjoyed a long and fruitful working relationship and it was with deep regret that I heard the news.

Although we share the same “King & Country” name K & C UK is a wholly-owned, independent company belonging to the Neville Family ... and them alone.
KING & COUNTRY HONG KONG LTD., has no financial interest in the UK operation.

Going forward ... As one chapter closes another opens ... Any UK collector or retailer wishing to purchase King & Country products will be welcome to buy directly from K&C in Hong Kong ... at www.kingandcountry.com.

Finally, on behalf of all of us in Hong Kong and Texas we would like to wish Mike, Sue & Tony good health, happiness and success in their futures.

Sincerely yours ... and happy collecting!

Sorry to hear that. It's a blow to the hobby and the toy soldier business when a major company closes shop.

What would be the typical costs and shipping times to the UK?

This is a great loss for the collectors.
I hereby thank the Neville Family for the beautiful days during the London show

This is unfortuntate- I wanted to start a collection from them-

Have to say when I did collect K&C, the Nevilles provided excellent customer service and were always very friendly at shows.

They were a credit to the industry and are a loss

The Crimea Range hasn't been exclusive to the UK for several years.

I'm sorry to hear that. K&C UK always gave excellent customer service with very prompt and efficient deliveries.

I don't think many UK collectors will be rushing to order from Hong Kong (or anywhere else..) due to duty costs and shipping.

Have any UK folk ordered from Hong Kong, and if so what were the costs incurred?

I'm in HK and send stuff to the UK. Duty is due on 'value of goods'. I'd imagine prices will be similar to those in UK that have to include VAT

I don't recall precisely how long it's been since JJD/UK shut down, but these closures do seem to indicate that the UK is a tough place to operate in these days. Someone who's better grounded in exchange rates and such would have to comment on the matter, but I HAVE noticed that I can buy more product for the USD from the UK than in many years.

I'm very sure that K+C HK are aware of the VAT/duty restrictions to the UK and have plans in place for that.

It's not hard playing in the grey are of taxation, especially living where we do.

For those purchasers in the UK, your payments will most likely not change depending on the quantity you order with localised VAT and 'duty' equalising themselves.

However, it's not too difficult to legally dispose of K+C pieces in the UK at less than K+C UK prices (inc VAT); it just depends upon the will of those involved

As a side note, anyone else started to log all the 'sale price' historical data that their site provides? 😂

Guys I regularly buy from the helpful team in Hong Kong and have stuff shipped to the UK. This has included bespoke model warbirds or recent DAK items. The costs are shipping and any duty - for me the service, the speed of delivery and the way the very helpful Kin Ng has responded to any query makes it all worthwhile. So I will be carrying on with K and C from Hong Kong especially when Andy increases his DAK and IF range ( hint Andy).

If you buy from EU. You will not pay import duty :wink2:

It was at one point -- K & C HK made it for them and you could only buy it from K & C UK and their authorized distributor in the US -- but then (because of costs), they ceased having it made for them by K & C, and K & C ultimately started making and selling figures for their own account.

To clarify my post...the figures with CRW in the item number were exclusive to K&C UK. The ones with CR were general releases...
