Why is the WS67 going for more money than the WS71 - is because the WS67 came out first ?? Anyone have an idea??

personally ron i think the 67s paint scheme is 12xs better and the 71s is just ugly. Plus i think normandy is more popular than fall of berlin.

Really? I think the second version is one of K&C's best painted camouflage schemes. Just goes to show how opinions vary.

You guys can throw all the money you like at the earlier K & C stuff, I'm hanging out for their more true to scale King Tiger's with good track detail in late war Ambush camo - sweet

Nice pic Oz,what a beast. How on earth did they knock those out. Were they still easy meat for Typhoons do you think?.

King Tigers weren't easy meat by any means Rob. There were 52 King Tigers committed to the Battle of the Bulge, but they were slow vehicles and came up the rear arriving late on the scene in most engagements.

20 KT's were lost in that battle, but only five were confirmed kills as a result of allied action. The remainder were lost due to track damage, lack of fuel etc and were disabled by the retreating Germans before being damaged "again" by allied airpower etc.

The Typhoon's 3" 60 lb High Explosive rockets each contained 14 lb of tnt and proved very effective against ALL tanks, especially when fired in salvos (of even numbers to keep the aircraft in trim). But you can well imagine that the Germans did not leave serviceable tanks out in the open in daylight for flyboys to shoot at ;) However when German vehicles were concentrated in one area such as along the roads of the Falaise Pocket the Typhoons etc did great damage, similar to the Gulf War when armor was concentrated there.

Btw, the Armor Piercing rockets that were initially designed for use against tanks proved to be more effective against ships and subs because they often just ricoched off tank hulls due to the odd angles of attack. Whereas the HE rockets blew the crap out of anything they hit, or nearly hit

Thank you Oz,thats an excellant post.I had been wondering if the KT's thicker armour had made life harder for the Typhoon, but it appears not.

So do you think that the reason why the WS67 is costing more is because it came out 2005 - while the WS 71 which cost less came out in 2006 ??

I am still trying to understand why the same Tank with different colors has such a cost differential??

On Ebay and even with dealers who sell Retired Items - these Tanks have different prices. What was the production for each ??

Agreed- that tank is one of the most unique pieces, IMO, in the history of armored warfare. A lot of the developments that the Germans pioneered with it paved the way for many technological advancements in modern combat tanks that we see even today.

Absolutely.Dr Fletcher of the Bovington Tank museum said in one of the episodes of 'Tanks',that even today it would still be a formidable tank.(no where near the best of course but perhaps still viable). It was i guess a good job the Germans were low on fuel/ammo and their production was being bombed day and night.

I bet that Bad Boy drank the gas huh? I really like the King Tiger Tanks - they both look really good and Andy did a great job. Still not sure those camo colors though?

The WS67 is very light coloring to me - where was that suppose to give it cover?

Yes like i drink chocolate milshake!(even at 43!!!:D)

As the lighter camo on WS67 is set in Berlin you can't imagine that the camo was really relied on in street fighting as it were.9happy to be proved wrong here:))

The coloring is so soft for a German Mean Machine - you know what I mean ?

Yes it has more of a soft spring/summer colour going on,nice vehicle though.

Ron,

I'm probably confused as you are but I guess it's because it came out earlier. I wouldn't think any less quantities of the WS 67 were made than the WS 71. I would assume it's the reverse.

By the way, I would be remiss if I didn't offer you my congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Hope everything goes well and that you guys have a great honeymoon! :)

Yes hope you have a wonderful day, although you do realise you will be away when dispatches is released.Priorities Ron priorities!!:D

Rob

I have both versions and generally prefer the WS71. It has more of the look of an urban camo fighting vehicle for Berlin. The track detail on the KC King Tigers are not particularly good. Next to the Normandy Panther it is among the worst example in that regard. Hopefully, HB will also do one down the road.

Thank you - thats very nice of you to say. Yes, we both are excitied about the Wedding - I am trying to get everthing organized in my office before I leave so I can come back with a clean desk.....yea right

Hopefully weather permitting we will have a great time in USVI - the photos of St, John look great - its the first time visit for both of us. Been around to the other parts - but, never USVI.

I will share photos when we get back. :)

Is that coming out. or a personal paint scheme. or a different company.
That looks like something i will be picking up.

is there any reason why on the king tigers some of the flaps covering the tracks are missing
