KooL Kansas Knights (1 Viewer)

Gentle Friends,

Once again, I am moved to introduce you to another of my Kool Kansas Knights. The pictures below present Francis I, King of France, circa 1540. The figure was produced, in limited quantities, by Medallion Miniatures. My figure is number 27 of a total of 100 issued figures.

You might pay attention to the intricate painting on the King's armor. You might also closely examine the drappings on his horse. These particular items clearly demonstrate the skill of the artist who painted the figure. To further illustrate the artist's skill, please note that my pictures do not present the figure as beautifully as it appears in reality.

Picture 1: Presents the King in a frontal view. I chose this picture to post as it does give you a fair impression of the intricacies of the paint on the armor.

Pictures 2 and 3: Present the left hand side of the figure from two angles. The intricate pattern of the horse's drappings and the King's armor are evident in these pictures.

Picture 4: Provides a view of the right hand side of the King.

Picture 5: By now, you have realized that Francis I is carrying a wonderful banner. I thought the banner deserved a picture of its own.

I hope you like Francis I. He graces my curio cabinet with much dignity and I am proud that he has joined my collection of Kool Kansas Knights.

Thank you for viewing my figure. I hope you enjoy him.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Gentle Friends,

Once again, I am admiring my Kool Kansas Knights and I wanted to share another one with you. The pictures you will see below are of the Knight Hospitaller, circa 1525. The figure is of the Flag Bearer for Phillippe Villiers de I'Isle Adam, Master of the Order of the Knights Templar. He was manufactured by Medallion Miniatures and he is number 10 of a limited run of a total of 100 figures. I think he is expecially exquisite.

Picture 1: A view of my Knight Hospitaller from the left side. You will notice that the Knight carries a Banner. I will show you the banner in a subsequent picture.

Picture 2: Now a view from the right rear of the figure.

Picture 3: The Knight's horse has wonderfully detailed armor and drappings. I thought you might enjoy a closer view of these fine accessories.

Picture 4: This view presents the Knight's magnificently detailed banner.

Picture 5: If you liked the front of the Hospitaller's banner, then, doubtless you will enjoy the reverse side.

I hope you enjoyed my Hospitaller. I am exceedinly proud that he resides within my collection of Kool Kansas Knights!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat ;)

Pat, your figures are always a good viewing. Those as I've said before, are museum works of art. I hope you don't live in Tornado alley, and thanks for sharing these with us, Mike:)

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the good wishes. If all goes well, you should see another Kool Kansas Knight in the next couple of weeks!

My change of residence is an interesting one. I have had a special display room built in the basement of my new home. I hope to have a much higher percentage of my collection out for display soon. It should be fun!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Gentle Friends,

It has been slightly more than six months since I have been able to post a picture of one of my "Kool Kansas Knights." I think it is about time to share another of my prized knights with you.

Below, you should find four pictures of Count Vlad Dracula, Prince of Wallachia, c. 1455. More correctly, the figure is a representation of Vlad Teppin, also known as Vlad the Impaler, who is the historic person on which the Dracula legends are based. Vlad Teppin earned his reputation as "the Impaler" because his favorite method of executing his enemy prisoners was to impale them on stakes. He was loved by his countrymen, but greatly feared by his enemies. I think this figure of Vlad captures the flavor of his image.

The figure is a limited edition figure produced by Medallion Miniatures. My figure is number 60 of a total of 100 figures produced. I hope you enjoy viewing him.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Fantastic figure, Pat. I can't wait until my checkbook catches up with my taste!

Pat,
Many, many, thanks for posting these brilliant photos of "That Bad Lad Vlad". The sculpting and paintwork on these connoisseur figures is really quite incredible and I love seeing them.

Thanks Again

Hi Pat

Once again you have dazzled us with some more exceptional pieces in your collection.

I think my favourite pieces would be Vlad Dracula and the Winged bugler. (Is the caparison on the bugler actually made of rope?)

Again thank your for posting these wonderful pictures and I am looking forward to seeing more.

Hi Pat,

What a beautiful piece. I can't help but think that the face looks familiar. I saw a show awhile ago on Vlad and they had a number of works of art depicting him. This sculpt has definitely captured the flavor of those artworks.

Thanks for posting :)

Frank
