Kronprinz - a real alternative to the big names (1 Viewer)

I totally agree with what is said about Kronprinz figures : they are very well sculpted and painted. They look similar in size with First legion's figures and smaller than K&c. For me they are better than K&c and if they are not as good as FL they are very good nonetheless and you can mix these two brands together in dios. You can view some of them at my facebook page (more to come). https://www.facebook.com/pages/Les-amis-de-lEmpereur/122574241192557
What else, the price : a real bargain ! Emilio does relly a good job !

Thanks for the info Gebhard, but Minutemen do not appear to be carrying the entire Kronprinz catalog, at least for the time being. I see ACW, Napoleonics, and Seven Years War there but no Romans. Romans are the ones I'm most interested in. I'm considering WWII as well but do not see these on Minutemen's site either.

Joe

Glad To see the interest building in these! we have some Romans left in stock. page may need to be updated but we are fairly healthy with these.

I've got to agree. I just received some Italian Blackshirts to scout for my First Legion Afrika Korps truppen, and they look fantastic! Thanks, Emilio.

Next week i plan to buy my first Kronprinz Napoleonic figure(i must choose between a Gendarme and a Bavarian officer)..i love the fact that Emilio portrays some of the lesser known corps..i'd love to see some Russian (maybe of the early campaigns)and the Po Tirailleurs..also some soldiers in informal uniform , some Dragon with "bonnet de police " smoking a pipe...or some Black Brunswicker..another not so beaten period is the first and secon campaign in Italy by Napoleon, ragged soldiers with Tarletons and Mirlitons....:)

Hello and thanks for your words. Now we are modelling some new figures for our WWII range , and finishing the models for a new range , the Thirty years war, also i have in my work table the new figures for a subrange in the Naps series : Austerlitz, and they are (casually) Russian grenadiers , in action poses ,. I'll post the pics in a few days

Regards

I just purchased a number of Kronprinz Napoleonic soldiers. Unbelievable and what a economical cost. They look as good as FL but about half the cost. No offense to anyone a simple observation of cost and quality.

These are the best bang for your buck on the market today and possibly the best thing since sliced bread. I have thousands of toy soldiers old to new and I should know...... take a look at my collection on the KC forum under Bayern's toy soldier and militaria museum.

I am in Kronprinz now for the long haul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please make a Blucher!!! mounted!!

I will post pictures of my KP's soon. We need Kronprinz under its own forum listing.

I received my first Kronprinz figures yesterday, a mounted Austrian Cuirassier and marching Prussian from the SYW. I agree that these figures are probably the best "bang for your buck" in the market today.
Comparatively speaking:
Similar size but not as much detail as FL. At half the price, however, an economic way to build a massed formation.
Similar size to WB with a little better sculpting especially on the horse.
JJD is a little chunkier and better painted but size wise they are close enough to mix (SYW series comparison).
Smaller than Frontline and better sculpting and painting.
Regarding K&C I compared Kronprinz to their Napoleonics. The mounted figures go well together but the infantry depends on which size K&C will standardize. The older K&C infantry are still slightly larger in scale but the latest French Line Infantry are much larger.

I think this maker has huge potential if they can keep their price point stable. At $26 for infantry and $70 for cavalry they are very attractive to those who like to have quantity in their displays and dioramas.
The SYW series is rather limited at this time but it looks like the Napoleonic range has some good variety. More action figures will also help Kronprinz expand their business.
I am going to buy more!

As noted in a different thread, I just purchased three Civil War and am looking forward to receiving them.

They soon could be making a big splash.

Hallo Guys ,
There have been several guys who have ask me if KP & FL look good together since I'm probably the only collector on TF that owns both I took a few shots so other collectors can make an informed opinion . I would first say that the KP drummer is a little bit bigger then the rest of thier Lutzowers . Regards Gebhard
