I think up until the 1880's the hats were mostly black.I think the white hats are more Hollywood but both look great.

In reality I think they wore about anything in the 1870's-80's .They were anything but "uniform"

JJD has some Confederate cavalry out but still hoping to see Kronprinz release some later war cavalry and Union troopers as well. I have the John Ford troopers and they are excellent. Chris
