Wayne,
Even a dictionary does not help. They must be two immigrants who were just enlisted in the German Heer. No wonder the Gemans lost the war +

I like the figures. I like the idea, but, is the gun supposed to look that way? What is with the wavy edges?

Wavy edges to break up the outline - straight edges in vegetation are easier to spot and this infantry gun was usually used as a direct fire piece from fairly close range operating from cover.

Why are the gunners in Wayne's photo wearing gas masks. Is it just a training photo or is Wayne slipping in some war crimes of using poison gas? {sm2}

Terry

The 7,5cm infantry howitzer was introduced in the early thirties.The picture must be from that period. Note that some of the soldiers' equipment dates back to WWI ej the leggings the guy on the left of the gun is wearing , the soldier on the right and the loader are wearing a WWI type helmet.

Good catch!! When I was in the Army, every time we qualified with the M16 we did so in darkness as well as in Protective gear (ie "gasmasks"). So this might simply be a training photo. Perhaps they were considering using poison gas rounds in this gun?? Good question Terry.

Anyone have any news on the Krupp re: cost and release date? Ron

The news letter from TG on May 19 said quote "2 more cavalry figures will follow next month and in July we will see the release of the Kruppe truck along with a new SS artillery piece", that appears all we know to date. Cheers, Robin.
