Anyone else got the game everyone is talking about yet ' LA Noire'?. I got it as an early birthday present for next Saturday and its really good. Its not just shoot em and beat em, you've got to investigate, discover clues, interview suspects etc all against a sublime backdrop of 1940's Los Angeles. Graphics and facial expressions are excellent. There is of course violence , I'm afraid I had to badly beat two suspects who refused to come quietly, and in my line of duty I also had to kill four bank robbers with a shotgun, but what ya gonna do!.

Highly recommended, but hey, be careful out there, its tough on those mean streets!:wink2:

My son got this last week and he's already beaten the game. At any rate, I watched him play it several times and it's very well done, evoking the period. I'm not a gamer myself but I believe it got very high ratings.

The facial expressions are so sharp you have to study them to see if suspect is lying, it really is very well done as Brad says and is proving very popular, you'll love it Wayne!

The facial expressions, as Rob said, are very, very good, the best I've seen. That's one of the things that stands out. Also, the chase scenes in the car are very good. I was watching my son yesterday and there was one scene that reminded me of the movie Bullitt.

Well I've got through the first few cases fine, but am stuck in an interview where my boss wants me to beat a confession from the suspect!^&grin

Back in the old days the Chicago Police would "Tune Up" a suspect by smacking them with a telephone book. I hope that works on your perps.

Now a days we offer them coffee and pray they don't sue us for violating their civil rights :D

They're lying. They're always lying. Guilty until such time as you can find them guilty of more offences. :wink2:

Now that, is the truth :rolleyes2: And after we've given them their free coffee, we have to go and buy our own. Something seriously screwed up with this scenario.

You should win this game hands down mate. All policeman probably should get some sort of a handicap when they play it :rolleyes2:

I remember through my childhood my Great Grand Father would always talk about the several run ins with the Purple Gang when he worked for Detroit. He passed 7 years before I became involved in Law enforcement. He would roll over in his grave if he saw the way things were today.

It's a really good game, you really have to study their faces to get the truth. I think this is a game everyone should try.
