Good question Scott, can't remember seeing them lately.I got one years back, very nice it is too.

I only know of 4 Landing craft (have all 4:D):

1. K&C DD series long retired
2. Conte - 2 Versions
3. Little Lead - smaller in scale.

I think that the BMC plastic LCVP is still around in the system. As with their Iwo Jima figures I believe the LCVP is based on the one from K&C and comes close in scale.

For "true" 1/32nd scale there is also the old Lindberg plastic LCVP model kit. Crude by today's plastic model standards, it's not too bad for toy soldier displays.

Gary,
good call, I forgot about the IWO landing vehicles.

I have the 2 conte landing craft and they look good with K&C. Speaking of the IWO Jima, has anybody got the figarti landing vechicles , and if so how do they look compared to the K&C iwo landing craft or the conte ones ?

Scott,

These are the ones KC UK supplied...............a very old picture! Almost my first dio attempt. I don't know if Mike still supplies them or not - can anyone from KC UK help?

I have the Figarti and the KC landing craft. Figarti craft is by far better quality and is entirely made of metal. The detailing can't be beat. Size wise, they have identical dimensions.

Attached are some old, old pictures I took and couldn't resist posting them again.

Carlos they do look great! I would love to see some of the Conte landing

craft with some King & Country vehicles and troops if anyone has a diorama!

The conte landing craft are kind of cool. There are two different ones. The sizes are not the same for some reason. Handy for a D-Day dio. Carlos those are really nice pictures. Does that dio still exist.

This is a work in progress:D and nowhere near complete yet , but I have put a different vechicles in for size comparison, I have a limited selection of us vechicles but this should give yoou an idea what fits and what dosen't. The sherman nearly fitted width wise but at the level of the sandbags it was too wide

Thanks for posting the great photos! Thats whats great about our

Forum! You post a question, and someone responds. I have looked at the

Conte Landing Craft but only on the Web, I have not seen them in person.

Your photos with all the different vehicles really gives me the opportunity

to see them in action!

Great shots!

I have a really nice one which I purchased awhile ago from Gideon. It

sits on a nice stand, so it really wouldn't work in a diorama format.

Here are a couple of shots of it in my wall unit.

I don't think the K&C ones have been available for years have they?

The Conte craft are very well detailed and painted, and although they are pitched at 1/32, due to their size, I think you can get away with the scale difference when using some of the K&C pieces. And they're pretty reasonably priced if you've got the space to display them. Mine's hiding in a box, until I can get a shelf free'd up to display it, but love the photos Carlos, Njja and RH

No the King & Country Landing Craft are long retired, and getting difficult to

find.
