Larry Allen's Model Ship Collection (5 Viewers)

Nice work, Larry!

Have you ever seen anything by the Connecticut Marine Model Society, http://ctshipmodels.org/index.html ? They specialize in wooden ship models.

Prost!
Brad

YES! I used to frequent the Mystic Seaport and surrounding museums often when I live in Cambridge, Mass.
I had a couple of builder friends who (I believe) were members. That was a while ago!!

LaRRy, a work of art and truly beautiful. There's something captivating about a tall ship, all the rigging and fittings. :salute::

I couldn't agree more.

Funny observation about my model collection (collecting) is that I have sailing ships which are tall, complex and majestic as well as submarines. They are opposite, being smooth, compact and simple.

However the wood model submarines were somewhat harder to build than the sailing ships. With the sailing ships there is so much to look at a few <goofs> don't stand out. With Subs ... each flaw is quite obvious.

Hi LaRRy, hoping you will post some more pics of your models. Chris
It has been a real "trying" summer, Chris. But now that the fall and winter is creeping up on me more time can be devoted to "FUN ACTIVITIES".

I am off tomorrow with George, (Minutemen) for the show in Hackensack. Back to Maine on Monday so hopefully :rolleyes2: I can start up with Toy Soldiers, photos and posts.

Thank you for the inquiry.
