Today in the mail I received the latest cut sheets for the new ACW releases coming in early 2013 from Britains and all I can say is WOW....make that DOUBLE WOW.

Bob, you are going to be one happy guy, no less than FIFTEEN winter clad Union and Confederate troops, plus a nice "sunken road" set of walls.

Fredericksburg anyone?

Again, just terrific, I have quite a few customers who have been asking for troops like these, great job Britains.........

I cannot wait to see these new figures! I have been looking forward to some Fredericksburg stuff for some time now as well.

Fantastic! I guess winter-clad Generals Lee, Longstreet and Jackson figures are not too far behind, then...!!!

Steve's comment above gets my vote too

Something along the lines of this metal kit figure I have had for eons would be admirable.

winter clad Union and Confederate troops,...

That sounds great. Any images of them anywhere yet??
I have always wondered why no one did these. At least no vendor I am aware of.

I've got a show in Annandale VA the weekend prior to the event, I am going to try to stay over that week and come to the event on Saturday, will do my best to get there, this should be a great time............

Nice figures, I guess the three piece boxed set is a thing of the past. Any Gettysburg sets in the near future ?

Looks like most of the Union figures are upgrades of the older "Clear the Way" set as well as the "Angel of Marye's Heights." I have the older angel of marye's heights set that I picked up off of ebay a few months back. I must say I really like the new winter Confederates for sure!

A massive thank you to both George and Ken for posting these pics. The new figures look terrific and Britains ACW range goes from strength to strength. Good to see they've made plenty of casualty/wounded figures as these will be essential for those waves of doomed attacks (14 was it?) on Marye's heights.

Great to see WB will be producing a figure of Richard Kirkland ' The Angel of Marye's Heights' . This Confederate soldier was in position behind the low stone wall on Marye's Heights during the battle of Fredericksburg. The waves of attacks on the wall by Union troops resulted in 8,000 dead and wounded lying in the field in front of the wall. The Pitiful cries of the wounded led Kirkland to go to his commanding officer and get permission to go out into the field with as many water bottles that he could carry and give help to those Union soldiers in agony in front of the wall. Permission was eventually given although he was refused permission to wave a white flag. This put him in grave danger indeed, however he told the officer ' He would take his chance' . This man then spent hours moving across the field between the two sides giving water and blankets to whoever he could, all the time in great danger. However both sides could see the heroic actions this man was engaged in and as a result no one fired at him. His bravery and compassion remain a legend in the American Civil War to this day. Sadly he was killed at the Battle of Chicamauga on 20th September 1863.
