Hi
I was able to find a few Trophy Civilian Figures. I have the catalog number for most and know who goes with what, but do you know who the man with the white base and the woman in the winter clothes are in the photo of the four figures. Also the pensioner giving the boy the castle. It seems like there must have been a base or something for this one since the figure bases have corners of white.

The pensioner giving the boy a castle did come on a base.
Looks like it must be the winter version of the set
The gent and the lady are a Christmas carol set
Lots of nice figures there
Bit of a mix and match though
Well done

Hi Zach,
I saw these on ebay too, but to confirm what Damian said, the Pensioner with the castle set did come on a base, also, I have not seen the Buggy/Horse drawn set before, it is not in any of my catalogs I can find, but it does look like Trophy.

The lady holding the baby came with a sailor who had just returned from sea.
The man with his had in his pocket is form a set of a man an lady buying a Christmas wreath

I've not seen the horse and buggy either. Calling Martyn! ^&grin

I was interested in the pensioner and boy but too rich for my taste. Unless it's a set like the wagons, the horse drawn cart with the barrels, etc., I'm not paying more than $80 for a T & C set, but that's just me. Of course, there are exceptions :wink2:

Zach,

A Chelsea pensioner with a toy casle and a boy set is missing an important piece: a gate. This set does not have a base at the best of my knowledge.

A gent in the horse buggy is an early Trophy piece made using Phoenix castings. Trophy had an agreement with Phoenix to use their castings. Trophy made app. a dozen+ sets using Phoenix casting. All these sets are shown in one of my early Trophy catalogs.

A set with two Chelsea pesioners ( one is sitting) is just "a marriage": a bench is not correct (it was not made by Trophy), both pensioners came from different sets.

The chestnuts ventor set is missing a vende figure and a guy warming his hands is a very early version on this set and does not go with the chestnuts vendor.

I enclosed the photos.

I hope it helps.

Best
Al

Thanks to everyone for the help

The bench I knew. The one in my photo is a K&C Bench. The one that "came" with the figures was a crappy plastic thing that obviously wasn't original.
I knew the Pensioner and boy must have more pieces, but I have loved them for so long, that I didn't care. Missed out on them at two other auction and decided this time I was buying not matter what.

It's funny, I generally want complete sets with boxes, but when it comes to these civilian figures I don't care as much. I collect them for my mother and she loves them and has them all set up so it doesn't really matter.

As I don't collect Christmas sets, and the pensioner and boy didn't have the fence, I forgot that I had sold this set earlier this year. I think it went for $350 to $400.

Many of these sets came from Bill Schommer and I've picked up a few good T & C from him lately.

And another....

These came in a box that says C104
Is this actually a set? My gut tells me no...

Hi Zach

Nice pieces :salute::

Trophy produced several "Park bench" sets, unfortunately I can't find set# C104 listed in any of my catalogues. The chap wearing the Deerstalker and doing a good impression of Sherlock Holmes was part of the London Omnibus set, that doesn't mean he didn't appear in one of the several "Park bench" sets also

Cheers

Martyn:)

Thanks!

Someone should make and sell repro catalogues from all of these manufacturers!

I need to check the catalogues but that may not have the answer. Either Martyn or Alex will know better than me.

In the bench on the left, the man in the deerstalker goes with the omnibus set and the lady is from C 30A, Park Bench Set with Chelsea Pensioner and Lady. I think you have the Pensioner. The figures on the right, I don't know but they could serve as omnibus passengers.

Hi Zach

I had a look back through pictures I had taken of sets my mate had for sale at London Shows over the last few years and lo and behold I found this

Very similar to your set C104

Here is another "Park bench" set that was available at the same show

Cheers

Martyn:)
