Lawrence Lo Memorial Toy Soldier Symposium March 4-5, 2017 (1 Viewer)

Louis, thank you very much for inviting me to the symposium! I wish I had attended in past years. It was wonderful to meet everyone in person and swap stories, to get to visit with Ken and Erika, and spend the day talking toy soldiers. And the visit to the Museum of American Armor was a lot of fun, too, to see that many restored vehicles in one place.

I'd like thank you and Meredith for your hospitality and sharing your home with us. And your collection is fantastic! You must have one of the largest, most extensive collections of King & Country's products, of anyone who collects them.

Thanks to Chris, too, for the toy soldier game!

I hope you all had good hunting at the Secaucus show yesterday, and had a great second day of talkin' toy soldiers!

Thanks very much, and I look forward to visiting again in the future!

Best regards,
Brad

Ericka and I are back in the office here in Ohio after an uneventful drive back to Ohio last night.

We wish we could have spent more time in the NY area, but we have new products coming in this week. It was really great to spend some time with like minded people and seeing Louis and Mark's collections again was worth the trip. The visit to the armor museum was an added bonus as it allowed me to get some detail shots for future projects. There is nothing better than looking at the real thing!
If anyone is ever in our area please feel free to stop by and say hi. We are located at the crossroads to the mid-west, near 1-75 and 1-80.

Thanks again to our hosts for an enjoyable weekend!
All the best, Ken & Ericka

Well, I'm recovering from a wonderful Symposium Weekend today in my office, trying to get some work done despite being completely exhausted. There were 21 people at my home for the first day's festivities, despite Hans, Rich Schuster, Matt Murphy and Teddy all being last minute cancellations. Nine of us enjoyed a junket to the American Armor Museum, where they started up and moved an M4 Sherman, M5 Stuart and High Speed Tractor. Thirteen of us made it to the show and/or Mark Hoffman's collection on Sunday. We raised our glasses and remembered Lawrence Lo, Chuck Karen, Christy Guerriero and Shannon Reuss. They were all there with us, at least in my heart. I am already looking forward to doing the Second Annual Lawrence Lo Memorial Toy Soldier Symposium next March. I hope you can all join us!:smile2:

Here are a few photos of us at the American Armor Museum Saturday:

Thanks Louis. I appreciated the hospitality from you and Meredith.

Hi Louis,
I tried but could not fit the event in my agenda this year, reason why did not even enlist during the early bird calls, but for sure would love to meet you and the others next year and be able to share some good quality toy soldiering chat and share knowledge of this special hobby of ours.
By what I see you all had a great weekend, not to mention the special moment dedicated to so many great collector´s and hobby supporters who´s names I have only known from the forum threads.
Congratulations of the event organization, museum site visit ( must be a fantastic place to visit and see the brutes on a 1:1 scale ....no discussions here as to the relative scales variances from manutacturer to manufacturer...{sm4}{sm4}) as well as the special collection sightseeing...Yours that I can only judge ( by seeing your pics on the forum threads ) as the largest K&C one, amonsgst many other interests..and the very interesting pics from Hoffman´s collection with all those Throphy and Metal Shed fantastic sets.....Mark´s collections I had never seen, you should ask him to post them in our forum......
Cheers
Luiz

Luiz,

Mark Hoffman has one of the most varied and magnificent collections I've ever seen, with virtually all of his more than 10,000 figures displayed. Next time I visit, I will try to take some photos that do it justice, and post them on the forum. Maybe one of the other Symposium attendees did some photography and can post some photos?:smile2:

Hi Louis,
Thanks for the note.
I always have your collection as a source for K&C one of a kind sets, as GICOP ( Martyn ) for Trophy..and so on..but I recall you mentioning once that Mark has the most extensive collection of artillery pieces you have ever seen.....wow that is my cup of tea {sm4}{sm4}{sm4}....maybe next year I will have a chance to join you all and see/chat with him about artillery pieces....
If any time you drop by his collection and take a few pics .... would be great to see all those guns...:salute:::salute:::salute::
Cheers
