Le Grande Armee (1 Viewer)

Along with infantry, I have been building out the cavalry of La Grande Armee:

What is the manufacturer of the figures with the round bases? I assume the one from Ukraine? They blend in well with FL.

Great looking figures! Thanks for sharing.

I started reading about Borodino as my Napoleonic interest has grown. I stumbled upon the battles in and around the "Bagration Fleches." Since I have grabbed a few of the Westphalian and Württemberg Jaegers, I decided to focus on the fighting south of them in the woods. Here I show the Jaegers fighting over the stream or creek that ran through the woods. I have them bunched up but they would most likely be in "open formation" hiding among the trees and other rough ground. Maybe one day I will be able to depict that better. I did grab a bunch of the Russian Pavlovski Grenadiers, even though I do not think they fought here. They are in the right action poses for what I was looking for:

The crop on this one didn't work well:

Lastly, eagle-eyed viewers may see a few of my extra 18th line in the background. They came from a group I bought on eBay where I got 3 rare figures with these 3 that I already had and didn't need extras.

Loving it, Great to see you enjoying your figures. IMO GREAT choices all.:salute::

Really nice to see the Württemberg Jaegers again they were a pretty early release and one that really cemented my support for First Legion. I think they were released back in 2008 or 9 its been a while. They were a great find , I think they've been gone for years.

I really love that First Legion are continuing to blaze their own way in the Hobby by releasing units that every one else for the most part ignores. I just really wish they would make some fresh sculpts but if it's the only way we will get em . I guess I will have to just deal with it.

Keep the post coming

Thanks Gebs. I really am enjoying having these figures in particular in a very conspicuous spot in my office. I spend a lot of time taking them in while on phone / Zoom calls

Looking good Larry. First Legion is truly the leader in the hobby when it comes to sculpting movement and action. No one else comes close to the realism of their sculpts.

Those Pavlovksit Grenadiers look really good. Personally, I'm going to go with the new Mass Battle figures form Russian troops because I prefer the shakos over the mitre caps, but the Pavlovski Grenadiers look great regardless.

That picture also illustrates another reason I've gotten into Napoleonics. You can have figures advancing/charging set up a few inches away from other figures blasting at them with muskets, and it is still somewhat realistic. Works great for shelf displays and vignettes. You can't really do that with WW2 figures.

Totally agree. I love the color and visual interest that these afford.

Glad we got hooked together!

Need to take a few pictures of my General with his fellow light cavalry and a couple of new figures for these guys.

Well, my light horse General arrived and is excited at the prospect of new comrades arriving soon!

Going to have to get a display for just the light cavalry themselves!

Outstanding looking figures-FL really nailed it in this line.
