Light Horse, a fond fairwell (2 Viewers)

Yes I remember this amazing dio put together by the Brisbane lads. I would duplicate it if I had the room {sm4}, Robin.

Outstanding Mark, thanks so much for re-posting those wonderful pic's. Such a buzz to see all those great desert village pieces set up in one place along with the ALH & Turks. ^&grin

ALH series is what got me into collecting toy soldiers so I'm very disappointed with Andy's decision to put series into hibernation.

There are so many more figures/accessories/Ambulance/Carts that this series cries out for and we only needed limited releases.

Mark

G’Day Mark,
First of all a vey big thankyou for posting that outstanding dio/display of the ‘Brisbane Light Horse’.
I well remember the first time I saw it a couple of years ago on one of my ‘Oztrips’ to Brisbane…I was truly ‘gobsmacked’!

Now, while I totally understand your disappointment at the ‘hibernation’ of the ALH it is just that…’hibernation’ not disappearance….There are indeed other ALH subjects to be done, including several that have the figures already designed, sculpted and ready to go into production at a later date in the future.

However, in these strange times we live in and the difficulties and problems we face with moving around and the inability to get into China to personally meet sculptors face to face and visit factories in person we have to cut some production in order to focus on our more popular items while still introducing occasional new ranges.

So, if you will, consider the ALH in temporary ‘Suspended Animation’ as the military call it and certainly not ‘dead and buried’!

All the best mate and happy collecting!!!
Andy.

A superb series.

Hi Robin ,
Allow me to add my congratulations to all the others who have praised and appreciated your magnificent Display/Diorama of our/your Light Horse collection.

Your setups and displays of many different K&C series (and other makers) is breath-taking as I know from that personal visit to your beautiful home and amazing ‘Man-Cave’ in Adelaide a couple of years back.

Once this bloody awful pandemic is over I want to return to Australia and Adelaide and ‘wangle’ another invitation to see even more of what ‘mischief’ you’ve got up to in the ‘Cave’ during the interval between my visits.

All the very best my friend and…Happy Collecting!
Andy.

Ah the Australian Light Horse, what a great military outfit that should make all Australians proud. The movies did a great job bringing to light a great victory of WW1 that was almost forgotten. Also kudos to Andy for bringing it back to life. What a wonderful diorama and beautifully displayed figures. Thanks for sharing your great displays again.

Amazing
Howard

That was a truly memorable visit Andy with our mate Howard and yes there has been a lot more mischief since that time. I would so enjoy another visit by your good self and of course Howard, to relive old memories. Having this hobby to fall back on, especially over the last 18 months has been a godsend. I am really appreciative you have still been able to pump out the releases month in, month out, despite the difficult times. It can only get better from here, fingers crossed. Robin.

Thinking also Andy, this would be a good time to put up Gordon’s brilliant desert village diorama featured a few years ago in one of the collector magazines. That was a stunning effort featuring the mounted LH coming from all directions into the town. From memory this was a commissioned work for a customer. Just a thought if you have time. Robin.

Hi Robin,
Many thanks for your kind words…At this moment the Missus and myself are enjoying a little spot of ‘Styaycation’ at the ‘Four Seasons’ here in HK.

When I return to the office on Monday I’ll look out those pix of Gordon’s fantastic original ‘Desrt Village’ he built for the K&C collector in Holland. If I remember correctly it measured 8’ x 4’. One of my brother’s finest!!!

All the best,
Andy.

I had 3 Light Horsemen in a small diorama - K&C desert well and a few JG miniatures palm trees.

Ordered 3 more from K&C at 2110hrs on Monday evening and they arrived yesterday. Not even 5 working days HK to UK......free postage and no extra VAT/customs either.

Outstanding figures and outstanding service.

Thank you.

Love the Barzo Castles, I will pass them down to my grandchildren.
