Well, I'm not a comic person so maybe that has something to do with that. However, I did find it amusing that someone actually liked Chase over Lincoln. Chase was rather inflexible and was a constant thorn in Lincoln's side, always scheming. In 1864, he was caught by Lincoln in an underhanded scheme to supplant him as Republican candidate, to Chase's embarassment. However, Lincoln, not being one to hold grudges, but also politically astute, got him out of the way after the election by appointing him Supreme Court Chief Justice.
