It's not from London but from Birmingham - my Mom's back garden to be precise!
It's an old WW2 air raid shelter - originally my grandad had it underground and sandbagged but for the last 50 years it's just been a storage for wood!
My Grandad built it hoping his family would be safe while he was overseas.
When the air raid siren sounded the neighbours would come round and shelter too!

Nice pic James,throw out the wood,stick up a 'Keep calm and Carry' on Poster and you're back in the forties!.Thanks for posting.Did your Gran and Grandad have to shelter there a lot?.

Not my grandad so much - he was over in Holland, Belgium and Germany doing his bit.
My Nan and her family did though.
This part of Birmingham was quite a regular target with the Castle Bromwich Spitfire factory nearby plus loads of other factories in the area.
