Its 3 weeks to go, and no one has raised this thread, so I thought that I'd go first !

OK, who is going to the show on 7th June???

ME ^&grin^&grin

I've also make contact with a few others who I have arrange to meet up with:

Old Bill (Roy) and we will compare notes about John Jenkins and The Battle of Leuthen.
ACW Cavalry (Martin) who is one of my regular friends and correspondents about the hobby in UK.
Mardasson (Michel) who will be bringing some of his figures for sale, including ALAM Figures, all the way from Belgium, and maybe some chocolates :)
Anyone else going ???

Please let me know, and if you see me wandering round the show, looking slightly awestruck by the huge range of figures and equipment on display or looking lost sometime about noon, say "Hello" and please direct to me where the drinkers will be enjoying a pint in the closest pub.

After London we will be travelling around UK for about 4 weeks, so if any of you are interested in showing me any of your local sights, toy soldier museums or showing off your collection, please feel free to make contact, via my home email obees@upnaway.com

See you soon,

John

John

I've managed to make the last nine shows but unfortunately I will miss this one due to my niece's wedding on the Sunday down in Dorset (completely the opposite direction to London) we are travelling down on the Saturday (show day) as my wife has made the wedding cake.

I've tried to get out of it but to no avail! So there won't be the usual selection of photos from me :redface2: but I'm sure there will be plenty from the other Treefroggers attending.

Anyway I hope everyone who's going has a great time and I will be looking forward to the photos!

Gents, Nobleman, Barristers, Collectors and Magistrates,

Is there a website of the London Toy Soldier Show and were a bouts is it in London? I have never travelled to your fair country and the closets I have been to God, Queen and Country is Shannon, Ireland. For y'all that probably does not count, but hey I was coming back from the War and was not in charge of international pit stops.

But seriously Gentleman, will you post more info and pics accordingly before, during and after?

Thank you sirs,

That's all it is mate, why?? I don't know?? with so many tables/sellers, dealers there you would think all parties would want to make this event longer, but maybe being it's held 3 times a year has something to do with it, just wish I had the coin to fly out to see this one in person, oh well maybe one day...Sammy

Where is the Pub for the lunchtime drink and what time???

I haven't been to this new venue, as last time it was in lobby bar of the National...

Exit the Business Design Centre and walk straight ahead to the main drag-Upper Street. Turn sharp right and the Steam Passage Tavern is about 20 yards along the drag to your right.-Saloon Bar usually about 1230hrs

A traditional London pub-good beer and darn fine tucker.

I'll catch you on the ice and mine's a gin and tonic ^&grin

I think it'll be the usual bunch of badly dressed, overweight, slightly sad looking middle aged men....

Why so sad???

I'll be smiling :) :)

Slightly well dressed, now NOT overweight and old aged :) :)

Well, there goes my primary reason for attending. I guess I'll just have to settle for looking at toy soldiers rather than trying to pick up fashionable, slim, happy young men. :rolleyes2:

I won't be going (again) - as am not in the Country.

But look on the bright side - at least I don't have to put a new elastic band over my trainers (to keep the sole in place); press my baggy trousers, give my purple track-suit top a wash, give what's left of my hair a Bobby Charlton comb-over, put after-shave over my bits of torn tissue pieced, wrinkled face - and wear a fixed smile at all times!

Thank heavens for small mercies. ^&grin jb
