Another very successful Show, I managed to find several mint boxed Trophy sets

C125 ZOO ELEPHANT
PW11A YOUNG PRINCE
TC5A THE CLOWNS
CWS13 DON COSSACK GUN BATTERY
CWS14D ROYAL MARINES-STANDING AT THE READY-BLUE UNIFORMS (TWO SETS)
CWS12 LANCASTER MORTAR BATTERY
RWK25 MELBOURNE SALVATION ARMY BAND
RWK25A MELBOURNE SALVATION ARMY BAND ADD ON
CS2 LADY WITH DAUGHTER
C118 THE FLYING SQUAD
C20A GENT OF THE ROAD

and

Early INDIAN ARTILLERY GUN AND CREW IN KHAKI

Plus a number of single figures, along with several diorama pieces

The chap from the Belgian Toy Soldier Museum had many Zulu and 24th figures for sale and I managed to get the following 24th figures---- 6 kneeling at the ready, 6 standing at the ready, 3 advancing, 3 charging, 4 fixing bayonets but he had sold all the standing, kneeling and prone firing sets. I also found 4 Cameron pipers and 2 drummers in white tunics for sale on his table.

Pictures to follow over the next few days

Cheers

Martyn:)

Who was it selling the Trophy sets and loose figures mate?:DDo they have a way of contact?:D

Martyn: Great finds! You are so fortunate you can be there. Like everyone else, I can hardly wait to see your photos. Did you see any Marlborough Durbar by chance?

Hi Martyn,

Congratulations on another successful hunt.

Looking forward to photos of your new sets.

Best Wishes, Raymond.:)

Congratulations Martyn,

I look forward to seeing picture of your finds.

Many thanks guys.

The prices were well below EBay Brad, just ask Clive.;)

For instance the RMLI sets were £65 each and the Lancaster Mortar Battery was £90, all are MIB never taken out for display.:D

The single figures vary between £5 and £10 each; I found a rare, early Afghan/NWF figure of a dismounted Trooper for the princely sum of £6.:D

The chap selling most of the Trophy sets and single figures is Richard Rambridge but he doesn’t sell on-line or do mail order, he only sells at the London Show.

Lynn Kenwood of MKL Models had acquired about 150 single figures and was selling them for around £8 each, I managed to find a C.I.V. Officer with binoculars and a charging Officer (KKRC)

Sorry Tommy but I didn’t get to the Marlborough tables:eek:

Martyn,

Congratulations on acquiring all those Trophy sets!! What wonderful additions to your collection. At those prices, did you leave any for Clive:D

Here is a nice figure I had not seen before

The catalogue number is A27 from the KABUL TO KANDAHAR - SECOND AFGHAN WAR 1878-80 series and the set description reads "Trooper wearing winter dress and standing firing carbine"

The comparable NB artillery set from WB --note major uniform differences. The WB Peel figure with helmet is based upon a painted portrait.
