Never saw such an early version of the Indian Artillery set. Very nice. I still like the bearded lady the most!

Lovely figures.
What is the regiment of zouaves supposed to represent. Are they ACW figures or French ( Crimean War).
The soldier kneeling next to his horse.
What set is that?
I have not seen it before?
Thanks

Hi, the Zouaves are actually a Boxer set - DC23.

The soldier kneeling beside his horse is not one I'd come across before either. The box says Crimean War: Lt Col. de Salis & Drummer boy which I suspect is wrong as there is no drummer boy. I am pretty sure it is Crimean War though, I think it is an 11th Hussar.

Now I know where the prone firing went;), nice catch

Cheers

Martyn:)

The prone firing were the only figures I was hoping to pick up at the Belgian stand and was expecting them to be long gone by the time I got there. Picked up a few more when I realised that prices per figure were only £10 compared to December's £15.

That is the correct description, Drummer Boy is the name of the horse:D

From the box label THE CRIMEAN WAR - SET No: EL29 - LT. COL. DE SALIS & DRUMMER BOY (DE SALIS DOCTORING DRUMMER BOY)

£10. That is a very fair for a retired Trophy AZW figure.

No joy for those far off.

Thanks, Raymond.:(

Hi Raymond

Don't want to "rub it in" but the stretcher bearer set was £25, the same set sold recently on EBay for over £90.

Cheers

Hi Martyn,

No worries, I can take some "rubbing"................:D:p

I am happy to say that I did not bid on the the stretcher bearer set.:):p

When I have calculated my projected expenses to travel to London at least once a year for the show, I shall let you know the "adjusted" cost of a single retired Trophy AZW figure.

Perhaps eBay may still cost less by today's standards.

Cheers, Raymond.:)

Hi Raymond

Hi Thanks for the information.
I have one of those Zouaves.'
I think they must be French Colonial Zouaves.

Hi Joe

I think Clive got 20 of the early DRD figures for £250, the guy from the Toy Soldier Museum Belgium was selling them as a set, not individually or I would have grabbed a few;)

Cheers

Hi Martyn,

Don't tell Clive, but the set appears to be short of 4 figures.

;)Raymond:).

Hi Raymond,
Re the VC set I thought it was short but it was too good to pass up.
Martyn kindly helped me work out what was missing.
Looks like Hook,Roy,Anderson and Connolly.
So the search continues.
By the way Lt. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the Dalton and Rev Smith figures.
Martyn,
Any ideas who got the 2 colour party figures for the Yorks/Lancs and 24th foot this morning on EBay. THey were listed as Buyitnow at £49.99 each and were up for a couple of hours overnight. I missed them by about 15mins (had a lie in this morning.)

Regards
Clive

Hello Clive,

I spotted these sets early in midnight, and contacted a seller, because they did not look like early Trophys to me rather as British Bulldog sets.

She answered that they had came in BB boxes (with "Trophy" writing on them) and the figures "pink cheeks" (I ask her about it).

"Pink cheeks" are usually belong to the British Bulldog soldiers , so I did not buy them...obviously a magic word "Trophy" at eBay could be very misleading sometimes ....:D
