London Toy Soldier Show - March 2012 - JJD UK (1 Viewer)

The T-26 was certainly lacking in aesthetics, but John has done it wonderfully. A great addition and not likely something that will be done by many others.

Continuing with the Spanish theme!
Please visit the stand to view both these new tanks;

John mentioned to me that Captain Stark and Sgt Beaubien sit nicely in the Whaleboats some time ago.
I found I needed to sit him on the blue package found in the Whaleboat set, but here he is;
Am not sure Captain stark is looking forward to this trip! :)

Excellent scene.
Thanks for posting this.
And you're right, Captain William Stark really doesn't look overly excited about the upcoming trip.
Konrad

You can see it in his eyes. He's wondering one of the following:

1 - Should he have ordered more figures from John?

2 - Will there be Ranger reinforcements down river for them?

3 - Did he leave the kettle on the stove?

4 - Will she wait for him to return?

5 - Will he get sick on the water again and have the boys make fun of him?

6 - Did I pay my bills?

Anyone else have some ideas? We can start the caption contest early this year. James I really like the set up. 4 days to the show. Have fun.

Matthew

Love the Captions!

Well, loading the Van today, and looking forward to the excitment of the show!

Here is the paint version of 'Nobody Expects!' Spanish Inquisitor.
He is holding up that extra figure you bought, but didn't tell the Wife about! ;)

I like him. I thought he looked like he was holding up a figure. So now John is doing 6mm figures as well as 60mm. ^&grin

Hey, I just noticed that the figure is holding in the other hand a jj designs box that the figure goes into. I thought that was a bible in the unpainted version.

I think these are being done the same way as the last London show figure. You have to get it at the show, and if there are any left they will go on sale at the JJD UK shop.

I'm sure you could just ask to have one held for you if there are any left from the show. I would think that there will be a few but I don't know the production run on this. The December show figure was 100.

Matthew

John was kind enough to give me the prototype to the T26 Command Tank with the radio antenna around the turret when he last stayed at my house.

Don't claim to know much about the history of the Spanish Civil War but JJ is definitely doing this more obscure part of history very thoroughly. Those new Soviet tanks ( BT-5 and T-26 ) are right up there with some of the best AFV releases I've seen to date. ^&cool

I'm glad that he's doing this range of history and not "playing it safe" by only doing western front. Its a bold move that is paying off. Eastern front is a breath of fresh air in the hobby. Other companies should follow.

The SE is awesome looking. I'm not sure if it has been mentioned but seems to be the aircraft of Capt. E. "Mick" Mannock.
D278 was written off when a Camel crashed into it while stationary on the ground on 2 June 1918.

Also looking forward to the many new releases we've seen since the December show.

Adam spent a lot of time creating a dio board to hold the various camp scene pieces, inspired by the new Sgt. Beaubien set and the super artwork by John Buxton;
We'll have to do a video at some point, which shows the flickering fire Adam set into the board (which really lights up and flickers!)

We hope to post up a lot more pictures of our new vignettes over the next few weeks, and give a better impression of the dios on display at the March show; we will also be adding these and more to our gallery section.

Really nice set up. Adam did a fantastic job. The flickering fire is a really nice touch. I hope you take this to the next show.

Matthew
