Photos from a diorama (mostly of John Jenkins and Britians figures) that was at shown at the Long Island Historical Figure show and painting competition last weekend. Mainly a show for painters and sculptors, I have noted that more and more of these "toy soldier" dioramas are shoing up as display pieces, which I think is absolutly great. With the high quality of these figures,coupled with a very realistic backdrop, they really blend in well with the individual creations by painters and sculptors.

Thanks for the photo, Walt! I couldn't make it up to the show, so I'm eager to see the dio.

I agree, there have been some great dios in our show (MFCA) in the past few years, made with toy soldiers, like K&C or John Jenkins figures, that looked like pieces made with scale model kit figures. Alan Golden's dios come to mind. And of course, the excellent dios that so many members here have made.

Prost!

Thanks for posting the pictures Walt, that is spectacular and you are right, the backdrop is terrific and really sets off the diorama..........

Dear Walt:

Really splendid photos of your Sudan War diorama. It's great that you got the figures stands covered for all the better effect for photos & viewing which I always try to do when possible.

Walt...that is a very nice set up you posted...his backdrop...the groundwork...excellent...I especially like the detail and time spent covering the bases...especially...especially...especially the JJD Gordons on the large rock...it looks like he traced the base of the figures...cut out a thin layer of rock and sunk the figures on the rock to conceal the bases...such detail...such a really nice job...

Superb dio, I love it {bravo}}

That must have taken an incredibly long time to set up :salute::

Cheers

Martyn:)

Very nice diorama. Just curious, who makes the mounted Madhists on these pictures - especially the one with the rifle? Thanks in advance.

Stunning work. The dio and backdrop create perfectly compliment each other

There are not many more words to use in praise of the diorama and the photo -- So DITTO!
Also, good eye Mike on the figures on the rock. I was looking at the rubble around the other bases and admiring that.
Gotta' remember that trick ... but yes, the amount of work!!! However it was worth it when you see what was achieved. -- Larry
