Long Tom (Item # A38029ADN) FM30

The American 155mm artillery gun was an exceptional artillery weapon of WWII. Well known by its nickname the "Long Tom," the gun could fire a 95lb projectile upwards of 15 miles with high accuracy. As part of its FM30 or 1/30 scale line, Figarti Miniatures proudly introduces its “Long Tom” (A38029ADN) cannon with four figurines readying to fire the gun. Done the “Figarti Way,” the “Long Tom” is constructed from over 100 separate pieces with a real metal barrel and the high level of detail that collectors expect from Figarti Miniatures.

Price: US$199.00
Total Produced: Only 100!

Loading the Long Tom (A4100ADN) FM30

As a companion set to its Long Tom, Figarti Miniatures adds “Loading the Long Tom,” four American artillerymen preparing to load the cannon. Two GI’s hold a ramrod used to shove the shell into the breech, while one soldier is ready with the separate powder bag. A kneeling figurine inserts the fuse into the shell. Also included are two pallets of 155mm shells and two cylinders used to hold powder bags.

Price: US$99.00
Total Produced: Only 60!

This looks great too Rick.

Can we get a close up picture of these figures? Is the Long Tom stationary or does it move too?

BTW the way, I love the extra accessories that go with the set.

Really sharp looking figures! The gun crew really adds a LOT to the gun scene. Nice ammo pallets, too.

Lovely bit of weaponry, looks a beast. Can anyone tell me if this gun would have been towed by the sort of tractor K&C have just released?.

Rick:

Can this be towed by the King & Country recently release Gun Tractor? can I get extra set of the 2 shell pallets ans2 cylinders of powder bags?

re: K&C M5 High Speed Tractor and Long Tom. Answer NO! Theoretically the gun COULD be moved by an M5 in an emergency, BUT the M5 was issued to units with 155mm howitzers and 4.5 inch guns, the M4 High Speed Tractor was the issue item for units with 155mm Guns and 8" howitzers. The Long Tom was also pulled by the 7.5-ton Mack model NO truck - a great big beast of a truck.

Thank you Gary i appreciate the info.

Sounds like a great idea! Figarti should sell extra shell pallets and powder bag cylinders as an accessory.

I agree that some extra shells/powder would be a nice accessory. For modeling purposes the extra shells could be used with the K&C M12 SP 155 and even the 21C 155 Long Tom as well as the Figarti Long Tom.

Guys further to my new tank thread I've also had the privilege of seeing the Long Tom and crew in the flesh.
The gun itself is extremely robust and even has a working breech alongwith what feels like a ratcheted raising barrel.
The crew poses are extremely realistic and the spare ammo really sets the piece off.

I think the Long Tom is going to be very hard to resist!

Rob,

Already gone for the V-2 and the PZ-IV, can't go for this one especially after the new Britains and JJD.

That Long Tom is a top class model and well worth the money - you get what you pay for as they say.

I saw this set live last night at the West Coaster and it is simply AWESOME! I wish I had some pictures but I lost my camera. Wish me luck finding it soon.
