Hi, everybody! I'm a newby at Treefrog, and I'd just like to say how glad I am to be here. I absolutely LOVE Forces of Valor 1/32 tanks, etc., which I only recently began to collect. I can't get enough of them.

Anyway, I'm having extreme trouble finding the FOV 81007 Sherman. I've looked everywhere for it (eBay, web vendors), but I'm having little luck. Does anybody know where I can get my hands on one? It's gotta be boxed and preferably mint :D .

Thanks again, fellow Treefroggers! :p

Welcome to the forum Treadhead.

I too collect FOV. I have all their 1:32 hobby releases, but unfortuately I do not have what you are looking for. The Sherman, 1st release, has been retired for a while now. My recommendation would be to contact George Guerriero at Minute Man Toy Soldiers http://www.mmtoysoldiers.com/ He may be able to find one for you.

I think the FOV vehicles, for the price, are among the best tanks and vehicles you can purchase in today's market. The detailing and attention to detail is superior. I really like 'em.

Thanks, sceic2! I'll do that. I've been hunting all over planet earth for this model but can't find it. Of all the vendors I contacted who showed the model in stock, not one had it (dang it!). :D

This morning I thought I'd hit the bullseye on a German eBay auction, but the seller won't ship to the USA. Just my luck.

Anyway, I can't wait for the new FOVs to come rollin' my way. :p

Cheers Buddy:

Check out ebay Item number: 250043592675. It is for sale at present & available. I believe it is what you are looking for?

Happy Hunting

Hi treadhead, now wouldn't it be ironic if "retired" FOV tanks shot up in price :)

Btw, why don't you get the latest FOV Sherman that has several tank riders and sandbags on it, I think it's a better version myself.

Thanks, Beaufighter. This particular auction makes me want to pull my hair out by the roots, 'cause the vendor posts, right there where the world can see it, the numbers "81007," which is totally, completely, absolutely INCORRECT. The model he's selling is the Italy Sherman (correct number 81407). The one I'm looking for doesn't sport all those funny camo freckles. I saw this auction several days ago and nearly lost my lunch thinking I'd finally found the beast, but nay. I appreciate it all the same! :p

And OzDigger, I agree. The Sandbagged Sherman does look better, which is why I bought the bloody thing, TOO. But I've jumped head first into FOV collecting, and I've absolutely got to have that SILLY OLIVE GREEN SHERMAN. HEEEELP!!!! :D :D :D

Hi Treadhead,

If it would help you out, I can pick it up with the buy it now, get it sent here to the UK and then get it off to you in the States. The cost to ship here to the UK is 9.50 Euro (about $12-13?), + whatever the actual cost of shipping to the States is.
Let me know if I can help.

Simon

When I've found myself in this "must have" postion in the past I've found that a time delay is the best solution. For example I don't bid on or buy the item until I give myself a "cooling off" period of say two weeks. If the desire is still there after two weeks I usually buy the piece, but 90% of the time I've lost interest by that time. Try it, it does work  :)

Thanks, Wraith! That's darn decent of you, and I appreciate it very much. But before I do that, I think I'll try to hunt this little demon down in the states; I'd rather avoid causing you all that hassle. But I definitely won't forget your kind offer.

And OzDigger, that's GREAT advice. But I don't have your self-discipline. :D I'll just keep looking until I find the little bugger and then buy the heck out of it.

Hello Treadhead,

We carry Forces of Valor as well but unfortunately we don't have that item either. I will be attending the Atlanta Toy soldier show next week and will look around for you then.

Thanks
Ronnie

To make things even worse it's worth remembering that there are at least two versions of that particular first issue Sherman. The enthusiast edition , which i think is the one you are after plus the diorama version which is better painted. I'd guess there is also an ordinary version without the weathered paint job.

Heh it's really bad to be a completist :)

It's worse than that, Easy. It's a CURSE!!! :( :( :D

And thanks, Ronnie! If you do find an 81007, let me know. It's got to be boxed, and I'd really rather (if at all possible) the box be MINT. That's asking a lot, I know, but I'm a bloody perfectionist. I can't help it.

Treadhead, I think I saw a Sherman with sandbags in a Target not to far from here. I know I saw it somewhere.......

Um ... I believe that’s the 80035 “Normandy” sandbagged Sherman, kilted vampire. Great little model, IMHO. Typical FOV exquisiteness.

The little monster I’m searching for is FOV’s first-issue Sherman – a plain Jane, olive green, nothing-spectacular release that’s causing me apoplectic fits. :( :D

Seeing how late I’ve come to the party, though, I’m not at all surprised the 81007 is practically impossible to find (in a box and mint, that is). I’ve had a devil of a time locating other FOVs, but I persevered and located every last one – all but this particular Sherman.

Be that as it may, all this Treefrogger support is gratifying. With everybody’s help, I’m sure I’ll find this tank eventually. :) ;)

A problem for sellers could be to offer them with their original boxes. I never kept a single one. I wonder how many have:confused: It is weird to think of the thousands of releases and now FOV could be collectable.

Boxes, boxes, boxes, will it never end! LOL, I guess I'll have to choose what I consider to be collectible and what isn't.

Let me see now, KC is collectible and keep the box, FOV is fun not collectible; yeah, that's a good start.

I threw all my FOV boxes away as well, have kept the bases though.

Congratulate me, everybody! I just found – and BOUGHT – the FOV 81007 Sherman. Had to go across the pond to do it, but by golly I got it.

Thanks, everybody, for your support and help. This pretty much completes my FOV 1/32 AFV collection. :D

And now let that hollow, empty, lost, and in need of something more feeling begin:(

Ah, but there is relief:) Soon FOV will release more issues and perhaps, just maybe, you will find another subject to begin collecting  That need to find more will begin to fill the void; maybe;)
