Hey - has anyone seen a dealer with the Southern Dead Set - not the SOS guys - but the OLD Dead Set ??

I have been watching Ebay and also planning to look at Toy Soldier Shows this year - just thought I would ask ??

I know it is listed on Conte - I doubt it is in - plus I would like to find it with a few dollars off that listing price ;)

Here is the set - below - that I am looking for :D

Ron

I wish you luck these now are as rare as hen's teeth and if you do find a set betcha it's top dollar.

Managed over the years to get 4 sets but only managed to snatch 1 set of the Yanks. Have tracked e-bay both sides of the pond to no avail-last set I got was from Fubar.
But then again your prowess of tracking down long deleted figures is afterall exceptional:D:D:D

Ron,
Did you check BT Soldiers ebay store.I saw this set a while back and I can't quite remember but I think it was their store.

I bought a set of the Union soldiers a few months ago. I have had the Confederates for several years. I think I have seen them on Ebay in recent months, but I am not sure. I will email you if I run across any.

Thanks for the help and the lookouts - it is a set that I would like to get my hands on. :)

Ive got the union dead set as part of a large collection of Conte ACW sets that are all available for sale from me, will ask the source if he has any Confederates kicking around, he did say he has more sets and needs to dig them out .............

I'll be going to the Michtoy show today, if I see any from a major retail I shall report...

It is amazing that from one historical book to the next, referring to the same battle, can have casualty fogures so radically different...Michael

Good one. They really make my diorama of Pickett's Charge come "to life." I have a few Union dead sprinkled in as well.

I have this diorama which shows the Conte Irish Brigade Charging a fortified Confederate position - which my attempt is to show FREDERICKSBURG (a favorite battle of mine ;) ) - understanding that the clothes and time of year is all wrong. Anyway lots of Union dead everywhere and a friend looked at it recently and said ... "Ron, didn't the South lose men too in the War ?"

LOL - I thought well maybe I need a little balance. :D

This brings up an interesting point that manufacturers should consider, ie, casualties. War is Hell and soldiers died, that is the reality and in order to depect such events, casualties are a sad reality.

One of the sets customers always bought from me when it was in production was the old WS "dead Germans" set.

Not to go overboard, but more casualties are needed..........

Is this perhaps overboard?

What I meant was not to end up having a raftload of casualties, ie, overdo it. That is quite an interesting vignette..........

TSSD has dead in long coats unpainted of course. With all those new paints......

I knew what you meant, I was just displaying an extreme casualty.

Is this also a little too overboard?-I have however deliberately left the headless Tennessean torso, which makes up the dual set, out of the shot just in case it got censored.
