Ive noticed a lot of threads started about this Plane would have to be one of the most popular and i reckon it will out sell the Spit and the Hurricane easily and at only 500 made it might just sell out,just goes to show the German stuff sells well........................^&grin
A well done version hats off to K&C lets hope when they visit the Eastern front we get another 109.

Wayne,

I think you are right about its appeal.

There were less RAF Hurricanes (400) and that was the first K&C warbird in this series so it sold out quick. Then there was the USAF Hurricane (only 200). My orders so far from K&C (not my sales) for this ME109 already are more than what I got for the two Hurricanes and I have ordered more stock. It is selling at a faster rate than the Spitfire and FW190 possibly because people know less made so have to be quick. The detail/Molders plane/Battle of Britain aspects also obviously help.

and yes I am a K&C dealer{sm4}

Regards
Brett

I wonder if kc made the Australia Boomerang plane how many they would sell ^&confuse:wink2:t:rolleyes2:^&grin

Neil,
Have never had a K&C collector ask about a Boomerang and I think most would prefer a German or RAF type plane.
Boomerangs and Wirraways way down on peoples list.

Brett

The ME/BF109 is one of my favorite planes, thus one was sold when it came out. Its my first A/C to purchase. I myself don't see the allure of the Hurricane, even though its the mainstay of BOB. I'd prefer a late Mark Spitfire. Now I can see first hand the quality of K&C A/C and see the price increase as compared to earlier A/C, hope the quality and precision parrallels.

AMEN WAYNE!!!!!! Lets hope :salute::

I am getting off track regarding the ME109 Wayne spoke of.
But i would appreciate diversity among the KC warbirds Boomerangs,Brewster buffalos, P-40,s,Bristol Beaufighter,Mitchell bombers etc...
I understand the commercial reality of such choices but i,m interested in any aircraft the RAF & RAAF flew.
As my ARMOUR 1/48 collection reflects.
So just maybe with the new KC Singapore series coming out we may just see a few of the more antiquated and obscure birds that were in service at the time.

Without getting sucked into controversy, I would buy the Boomerang. It's a cool looking plane.

Have you seen the Boomerang at the museum at Oakey?

I would like to see a Boomerang even thou they were a ugly looking plane. But at over $300 us dollars for any plane no way. Simmo.

Hi Guys.
I am not knocking the interest in a Boomerang or a Wirraway but in the overall scheme of Australian aircraft these would be way down my wish list as a dealer.

When I started my business I had, at one point, probably 150 different wooden/mahogany aircraft. Had all the classics such as Albatross, Sopwith's, Spits, Hurricanes, ME109's, Corsairs, B-17's, Heinkel 111, Lancs & Canberra's etc (bombers not to scale with fighters). I took photos of pretty much every aircraft in Oakey Museum (Army Aviation), War Memorial, Caboolture (they had a flying Wirraway), and Nowra and many from air shows and had wooden models made of many of them. I don't think I did a Boomerang but did have Wirraway and Grey Nurse Spitfire and many more (Meteors, Sabres, Southern Cross, Hueys, RAN Wessex, Pilatus, Seafury, Macchi, Venom, Grumman Tracker, DC 3, F111, etc). Boomerang and Wirraway just did not rate in terms of interest compared to the main classics and Aussie options I had.

Later on I sold the Franklin Mint 1/48 aircraft and there were sometimes special Australian aircraft made. They did the Spits, plus most post WWII aircraft but don't recall a Boomerang or Wirraway. Not sure but somebody may have done a Wirraway in 1/72.

IMHO there are a number of Australian aircraft and specific markings that would be more popular than Boomerang or Wirraway. Somebody is welcome to start a poll but there are plenty of options.

Regards
Brett
PS Simmo, so far only one K&C plane has been over $300. If the latest two ME109's are $229 I doubt a Boomerang would be over
$300 (purely academic as not likely to be done).

But you are a Britt. Simmo.{sm4}

If Andy has no interest in making it as a poly, I would welcome it in wood.

Mine arrived today. A very nice rendition of a BF 109. Will go well with my other K&C WWII Aircraft. Cheers
