My new M26 Pershing arrived yesterday and I must say I'm not impressed. Why is the turret almost black? It looks ridiculous sitting atop the olive drab hull. It's like FOV had hulls laying around and just made new turrets for them without bothering to match the paint.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. The original FOV M26 Pershing was a true materpiece and maybe the best of there initial models. Hopefully you can some how be made whole and this was an aberation.

my pershing is fine, except the the holes for the mg and antenna are a little oversized.
other than that a great model.

Yeah, Carlos. I've seen the first one and it looks great. Here is my new one.

Yuk! I'm happy I kept my original release one.

Its just not right is it? Although its not the best tank either never really cared much for the design.

Just emailed my dealer and asked if this was normal. He said it was. They have had 18 in the shop so far and they all look like mine. The first version was great, the new one is a big disappointment.

I had the first one & it had the same colour all over as your turret ,what worries me about FOV is the mount of plastic there using now :(
Thank for posting the pic

What interesting about the Pershing when it went to ETO is that straight away they started testing the Super Pershing , a great read on US armour in ETO is " Death Traps "

This Pershing is missing a left side road wheel, possible battle damage?

I think the first release one is a beauty. Maybe this means it'll hold some of the secondary market value as the Pershing had really climbed up there for a while.

All of these comments are very disturbing, especially since I love FOV. However, the most disturbing one is that the new models are made mostly of plastic. If this is the case I will save my money and buy the fantastic new models that are being offered by other companies instead.Hopefully, FOV will see that they will not be competitive in this market and improve/ or( revert back to their former self) these new models. Larry.

You might be right Gideon. two months ago I sold a 1st edition Pershing (MIB) for around $85 and your right it was a beauty.

Well, at least the turret is metal... just horribly painted. The Porsche turret on the King Tiger is plastic.:(
