M4A2 Sherman Tank (Tarawa) repainted (1 Viewer)

Nicely done,Sir.
Might reconsider the white star on turret.Jarheads not fond of giving Japs aiming points.
Stuarts on Guadalcanal..a few..but they learned.U.S.Army loaded theirs up as they loved
drawing attention.
Nevertheless an impressive job!

nice work. Looks like the tank is kitted out as an Army tank from the ETO. The US Army used the M4A2 for training, but overseas use was very limited. Some were obtained from British stocks in early 1945 to cover the heavy losses in the Ardennes until US tanks could replace them. Otherwise the US Army didn't want the M4A2 (Sherman III) in overseas service with the Army. The Marines started using M4A2s because they were the only medium tanks readily available when the USMC decided that mediums were more effective against the Japanese than the light tanks. In fact the M4A2s that served on Tarawa had been diverted from part of a British order..
