Time to bump up some of Larrys threads.
This is the one I particularly remember. After asking a question about the signature on his helicopter print a PM from Larry came in within a couple of minutes saying if I was ever in NY he would be happy to show me around and buy me dinner. Coming from a total stranger I was pleasantly surprised. However no doubt this kind invitation was also extended to many other forum members over the years.
The other one I enjoyed was the "dogfight" thread where Larry and Louis were showing their wooden airplane collections and people were "taking sides". It was a fun thread and showed how the hobby can bring people together. Not sure if Larry started that thread but if he did I will bump it up. If it was not Larry and somebody knows how to find the thread please bump it.
