John, were you in SA for the '85 blizzard? Now that was some snow. Every car port in town collapsed under the weight!:eek:

Nah, we were living in Colorado at that time and snow was no big deal. But, my grandma house almost collasped.

Glad that Grandma’s house made it.:) For our other readers, a lot of houses down here don’t have much pitch on the roof, and attics frequently aren’t much more than a crawl space. The “car ports” that I mentioned are often supported by just four 4 x 4 beams. When all this accumulated on the shelters, they commenced to come down all over town:

Buffalo, NY, no problem. San Antonio, TX, no way!{eek3}

John, that should be my post, living up here in the snow globe of the North East...{sm4}

We are looking at a dusting tonight and maybe 4"-6" on Wednesday ... which is really nothing.

I know the white stuff is a bit unusual for you guys so drive with care, stay warm and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate!

Hummm ....Do Texas folks EVEN OWN a pair of "long johns" ..^&grin

They were talking a dusting here tomorrow, mixing with rain, now it's up to 4" to 6"..................glad it's on a Saturday, good thing this didn't hit last weekend, would have ruined that show in Korea.........................good luck you fellas down in Texas, you'll be fine, I look forward to pictures of cars up in trees, overturned on the side of the road and wrapped around poles as "YA'LL" attempt to drive in the snow.........no "long Johns", those rough and tumble folks in the GREAT state of Texas wear fur lined chaps in the winter...................

On a serious note, do be careful on the roads as your storm is heading this way; they showed a 20 plus car pile up in San Antonio, thankfully no one was seriously injured from the reports.

Driving in snow is bad, hitting ice is 1000% worse, so stay of the roads if possible until it clears, the roads around here are going to be a mess tomorrow...........

Texas is a land of extremes. In December and January it drops into the 20's and by May it is 100 again.

And people wonder why real estate is so cheap here.

Oh no, snow. Oh snow.{eek3}

Gents,

Yeah man those fires in Cali are awful AND terrifying. I would have snow any day of the week vs. wildfires. We are blue skies and sunshine now and back in the 70's next week. That car pile up was BAD and right on an overpass, so that was a mess.

And George and LARRY I do happen to have some "long johns"...not the old school kind but the Nike All weather poly pros. Yes, times have changed and I do have a Columbia winter jacket. I mean its brand new with closet dust on it, but uh you just neva-neva know when a blizzard may come through.

I have said it before and will say it again, I don't know how you guys do it up there in the North with the snow and all. I mean yalls storms are brutal.

Galveston, Texas!!!

it's a Winter Wonderland here today...

the grass is white...

either snow or frost...

you have to look hard and squint your eyes to see it...

probably been 15 years since it snowed here...

either way...it's way too cold here...
